Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for monitoring the status of a transmission mechanism, comprising: generating a status monitoring curve using direct position information and indirect position information; identifying the current status of the transmission mechanism based on said status monitoring curve. In the mainembodiment said status monitoring curve is a backlash distibution curve. In addition, the present invention also provides a system for monitoring the status of a transmission mechanism.
Abstract:
Single precursors for use in flash ALD processes are disclosed. These precursors have the general formula: X m M(OR) n or X p M(0 2 R') q where M is Hf, Zr, Ti, A1, or Ta; X is a ligand that can interact with surface hydroxyl sites; OR and O 2 R' are alkoxyl groups with R and R' containing two or more carbon atoms; m + π = 3 to 5; P+2q = 3 to 5; and m, n, p, q ≠ O. Further precursors have the general formula: (R 1 2N) m M(=NR 2 ) π or (R 3 CN2R 4 2) P M(=NR 2 ) q where M is Hf, Zr, Ti, or Ta; R 1 2 N is an amino group with R 1 containing two or more carbon atoms; NR 2 is an imido group with R 2 containing two or more carbon atoms; R 3 and R 4 are alkyl groups; m+2n = 4 or 5; p+2q = 4 or 5; and m, n, p, q ≠ 0. Flash ALD methods using these precursors are also described.
Abstract:
A VoIP adapter for POTS a phone comprises: a POTS phone connector, an IP network interface, two sets of signaling senders, signaling receivers, media senders and media receivers for the POTS phone and the IP network respectively, and a controller for controlling the operations of above components. The VoIP adapter enables the user to carry out VoIP communications using a normal POTS phone and further enables use of advanced VoIP functions via the normal POTS phone, such as Call Hold, Call Transfer, Ad Hoc Conference, etc.
Abstract:
The disclosure describes a unique animal model which is useful for studying the role of FGF14 in the central nervous system (CNS) and testing of potential drugs for treatment of CNS diseases. To provide this animal model, the Fgf14 gene is disrupted in mice by replacing the second and third exons with beta-galactosidase. Neuropharmacological studies are disclosed which show that the Fgf14 deficient mice have disrupted striatal-nigra and striatal-pallidal pathways resulting in increased excitatory input to the cortex. The paroxysmal hyperkinetic disorder in Fgf14 deficient mice phenocopies a form of dystonia, a disease often associated with dysfunction of the putamen.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a polymer dispersion prepared by controlled radical polymerization. The present invention also relates to methods for using the polymer dispersion for oilfield friction reduction under a variety of adverse conditions.
Abstract:
Examples relate to communication of event-based content. The examples disclosed herein enable obtaining, by a first server computing device, a first event that is generated by a second server computing device based on a first request from a first user. The first event may comprise a first set of contextual attributes that describe the first event. The examples disclosed herein further enable identifying, by the first server computing device, a first set of content categories that are related to the first event and obtaining, by the first server computing device, first content for at least one of the first set of content categories. The first content may be determined based on at least one of the first set of contextual attributes. The examples disclosed herein further enable providing, by the first server computing device, the first content to a client computing device of the first user.
Abstract:
An example method includes receiving, by a translator on a user device, a client request from a user of the user device, the client request being associated with a web service; identifying a translation pattern corresponding to the client request from a plurality of translation patterns; generating a translated client request based on the client request and the translation pattern corresponding to the client request, and transmitting the translated client request to the web service.
Abstract:
A redox flow battery system having an electrochemical cell and an energy reservoir. The system includes a cathodic compartment, an anodic compartment, a separator that divides the two compartments, and an energy reservoir which contains an electro-active material, electro-active ions, an electrolyte, and a redox mediator. The reservoir is connected to either the cathodic compartment or the anodic compartment via an inlet-outlet pair for circulating the electrolyte from the energy reservoir to the cathodic compartment or the anodic compartment.
Abstract:
Altered protein products resulting from somatic mutations are directly identified and quantified by mass spectrometry. The peptides expressed from normal and mutant alleles are detected by Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM) of their product ions using a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. As a prototypical example of this approach, we quantify the number and fraction of mutant Ras protein present in cancer cell lines. There were an average of 1.3 million molecules of Ras protein per cell and the ratio of mutant to normal Ras proteins ranged from 0.49 to 5.6. Similarly, we detected and quantified mutant Ras proteins in clinical specimens such as colorectal and pancreatic tumor tissues as well as in pre-malignant pancreatic cyst fluids. These methods are useful for diagnostic applications.
