Abstract:
The present invention provides spray-dried polyene compositions for oral inhalation to the lung. The polyene antifungal compositions demonstrate superior aerosol properties, do not exhibit appreciable degradation of the polyene upon spray-drying, and are useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of both pulmonary and systemic fungal infections.
Abstract:
Described herein are devices, systems, and methods for determining the composition of liquids, including the identity of one or more drugs in the liquid, the concentration of the drug, and the type of diluent using immittance spectroscopy. These devices, systems and methods are particularly useful for describing the identity and, in some variations, concentration of one or more components of a medical liquid such as intravenous fluid. In particular, described herein are devices, systems and methods that may operate in low ionic strength diluents. Also described are methods of recognizing complex immittance spectrograph patterns to determine the composition of a liquid by pattern recognition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to host cells and methods for expressing heterologous polypeptides. The host cell comprises a high copy number plasmid encoding said polypeptide and a chromosomally-located regulator of expression of said polypeptide under control of a strong promoter.
Abstract:
Described herein are devices, systems, and methods for determining the composition of fluids, and particularly for describing the identity and concentration of one or more components of a medical fluid such as intravenous fluid. These devices, systems and methods take multiple complex admittance measurements from a fluid sample in order to identify the identity and the concentration of components of the fluid. The identity and concentration of all of the components of the solution may be simultaneously and rapidly determined. In some variations, additional measurement or sensing modalities may be used in addition to admittance spectroscopy, including optical, thermal, chemical, etc.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel recombinant hemoglobins having reduced nitric oxide scavenging and/or increased high soluble expression. The invention further relates to methods of increasing the soluble expression of recombinant hemoglobin by adding exogenous hemin in molar excess of the heme binding sites of recombinant hemoglobin.
