    Abstract: In a cylinder-piston unit which is especially designed for assisted steering systems for motor vehicles, a piston (2) is arranged to move in a cylinder (1). At one end the piston (2) has a collar (3) guided to seal on an inner wall (4) of the cylinder (1). At its other end the piston (2) has a rack outline (7) engaging with a toothed segment (8) of a drive shaft (10). At the other end of the piston (2) there is a pressure component (12) on its side opposite the rack outline (7) which has a pressure piston (13). The pressure piston (13) is guided with a seal in a blind drilling (14) arranged radially in the piston (2) and is acted upon by a pressure spring (15) and/or pressurised oil which can be fed into the blind drilling (14) towards the inner wall of the cylinder (1). Thereby the piston (2) is pressed towards the toothing between the rack outline (7) and the toothed segment (8). This automatically and permanently prevents the formation of play between the teeth.

    Abstract: In a vehicle with driven steering axle and a differential lock, the latter is activated in function of the difference in speed at the output shafts and reopened in function of the steering angle. The signal emitters are contactless sensors which produce speed-dependent and position-dependent signals simultaneously. The emitting part of said sensors is connected to a part of the drive shaft whose axial displacements are a function of the steering angle.
