    摘要: A biological sterilization indicator device is provided. The device comprises a body, a plurality of test microorganisms, and an oxygen-modulated first fluorescent sensor. The body comprises a first layer attached to a second layer, forming at least one isolatable microchamber and at least one primary passageway that provides fluidic communication between ambience and the at least one microchamber. The microchamber has an isolated volume of about 0.5 microliters to about 9.5 microliters. The plurality of test microorganisms and the oxygen-modulated first fluorescent sensor are disposed in the microchamber. A method of using the device to determine the effectiveness of a sterilization process is also provided.

    摘要: A system (10) for delivering atomized fuel to a combustion chamber in a home heating unit includes a spray nozzle (12) and a control assembly (14) that controls the delivery of fuel from a supply (16) to the nozzle (12). The control assembly (14) includes a pump (20) and a valve (26) that is controllable to provide a variable rate of fuel flow. The nozzle (12) includes a body (52) with a fuel passage (34), a cap (62) securable to the body (52), and a swirler plate (36) between the body (52) and the cap (62). The swirler plate (36) has an aperture (70) that cooperates with at least one of the body (52) and the cap (62) to define a fuel channel (72) that extends from a radially outer region (74) to a radially inner region (76). The outer region (74) communicates with an outlet (35) of the fuel passage (34), and the inner region (76) communicates with a swirl chamber (40). From the swirl chamber (40), atomizing fuel is dispensed through an outlet orifice (42) in the cap (62).

    摘要: A method for characterizing fracture planes generated during a hydraulic fracturing process, comprises receiving microseismic data from the hydraulic fracturing process and processing a microseismic event cloud from the received microseismic data. This is followed by determining at least one reservoir geometry from the microseismic event cloud. The determination of geometry may consist of determining multiple candidate geometries and probability of each. In some forms of the invention the method may comprise postulating a set of candidate geometries with differing numbers of fracture planes, determining the most probable locations of the postulated fracture planes in each member of the set of candidate geometries and also determining relative probabilities of the candidate geometries in the postulated set. Determining a location of a fracture plane may comprise calculating a number density for each microseismic event, dependent on distance from some possible location of a fracture plane or fracture network. Finding the location of a plane may then be finding the location for which the number density is greatest. The determination of reservoir geometry may be followed by determination of the area of the fracture planes and/or by a prediction of production.
