Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to the fields of gene therapy, immunology, and vaccine technology. More specifically, the invention relates to a novel system that can rapidly generate high titers of adenovirus vectors that are free of replication-competent adenovirus (RCA). Also provided are methods of generating these RCA-free adenoviral vectors, immunogenic or vaccine compositions comprising these RCA-free adenovirus vectors, methods of expressing a heterologous nucleic acid of interest in these adenovirus vectors and methods of eliciting immunogenic responses using these adenovirus vectors.
Abstract:
A pipe-in- pipe pipeline has a bulkhead that transfers thermal stress from an inner pipe to an outer pipe, wherein at least part of the bulkhead forms a conduit for a product traveling through the inner pipe. Most preferably, the pipeline is a cryogenic pipeline for transport of liquefied natural gas. Where desirable, insulating material may be disposed between the inner pipe and outer pipe, while spacers may maintain the distance between the pipes.
Abstract:
Interactive resource competition ranks resource users using coefficients of performance (CoP). Resource users compete for a target resource and each offer a quantifiable reciprocal resource in exchange for using the target resource. A trigger frequency of a predetermined action with respect to the target resource is recorded, and the CoP based on the respective reciprocal resource value and the trigger frequency is determined. The target resource is then allocated based on the ranking of the CoP's. An intermediate and credit fund account is used for both making payments and recording the trigger frequency. The competition is particularly useful for allocating an information display position in online electronic marketing.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to the decontamination of anthrax spores, prophylaxis and treatment of anthrax infections and, more particularly, to compounds that act as specific inhibitors ofB. anthracis germination/outgrowth-associated proteins, methods and means for making such inhibitors and their use as pharmaceuticals and/or vaccines. The invention also relates to the prophylaxis and treatment of anthrax infections and, more particularly, to vaccines and compositions that comprise B. anthracisantigens, epitopes, proteins, or nucleic acid molecules, including anthrax protective antigen, anthrax lethal factor, anthrax edema factor and anthrax proteins associated with spore germination and outgrowth, as well as methods and means for making such compositions and their use as pharmaceuticals and/or vaccines.
Abstract:
A method and a system monitor the effectiveness of an online advertisement with improved accuracy. The method analyzes a request for visiting a target webpage, determines whether the request is from an advertisement website, and extracts from the request a monitored target identifier if the request is from an advertisement website. The method further obtains a user identifier according to the request, and records a tracking data containing the monitored target identifier and the user identifier. Upon occurrence of an advertisement effect monitoring event, the method finds a recorded tracking data containing the monitored target identifier and the user identifier associated with the event, and records an effective data of advertisement effect based on the tracking data and/or information of the advertisement effect monitoring event.

Abstract:
An electro-optical Mach-Zehnder modulator is configured to perform logic exclusive-or (XOR) or inverse exclusive-or (XNOR) operations. The invention may be applied in optical communication network components with a transmitter module used to convert electrical non-return-to-zero (NRZ) encoded signals to optical Manchester-encoded signals. The resulting optical signals are well suited for high bit rate (e.g. 40 Gb/s) operation, which needs no clock rate conversion. According to the invention, an electro-optical MZ modulator performs XOR or XNOR operations of electrical signals while simultaneously performing the electro-optical modulation of the signal onto an optical carrier signal.
