    摘要: Ventilation duct connector piece for connection with ventilation ducts or connector pieces, formed by two complementing parts (10a, 10) providing a flow space (4) and having at least two open ends (12), each part (10a, 10b) comprising a fibre layer (2) and an inner layer (3), wherein - the fibre layer (2) comprises mineral fibres and a binder, compressed into a desired shape, the fibres having a melting point over 800 degrees Celsius, - the inner layer (3) is a stainless-steel foil having a thickness of 0,01-0,3 mm, facing the flow space (4). A method of manufacturing the connector piece wherein the steel foil is pressed into two complementing parts, joined along its edges; a binder solution is sprayed on a fibre layer and compressed into two complementing parts under heated conditions, so water evapo- rates, whereafter two fibre parts are positioned on the two steel foil parts.

    摘要: A polyarylene sulfide (PAS) foam layer that circumscribes a hollow inner tube and may have a 50% or greater density reduction relative to the density of an un-foamed PAS polymer material and/or a 50% or greater thermal conductivity reduction relative to the thermal conductivity of an un-foamed PAS polymer material and/or 50% or greater thermal effusivity reduction relative to the thermal effusivity of an un-foamed PAS polymer material. The PAS foam layer may have a low density (e.g., less than 0.67 g/cc) and/or a low thermal conductivity (e.g., anywhere from 0.017 W/(m-K) to 0.145 W/(m-K)) and/or a low thermal effusivity (e.g., less than 316 Ws 1/2 /m 2 /K, optionally anywhere from 38 Ws 1/2 /m 2 /K to 316 Ws 1/2 /m 2 /K) even at high temperatures (e.g., above 400 degrees Fahrenheit (°F) (about 204 degrees Celsius (°C)). Such a PAS foam layer may have characteristics appropriate for use as part of a steam hose.

    摘要: A modular, aerogel-based vacuum insulated pipe section (10) comprising an outer conduit (12); an inner conduit (22) concentrically disposed within the outer conduit (12) with aerogel insulation (30) and a condensable gas being disposed in the insulation space (20) between the concentric conduits (12, 22). As a stand-alone pipe section (10), the insulation space (20) is at a pressure within the range of from about 100 microns Hg to about 1000 microns Hg. However, in operation, when a cryogenic fluid is traversing the inner conduit (22), the condensable gas condenses and the pressure within the insulation space (20) is further reduced to range of from about 1 microns Hg to about 5 microns Hg. The vacuum insulated pipe section (10) further includes a coupling arrangement disposed on a first end (52) of the inner conduit (22) and a second end (54) of the inner conduit (22), the coupling arrangement configured to engage or mate with a corresponding end of another modular vacuum insulated pipe section.
