A copolymer comprises the reaction product of (a) (meth)acrylate functionalized nanoparticles, (b) vinyl monomer, and (c) mercapto-functional silicone. The (meth)acrylate functionalize nanoparticles are selected from the group consisting of silica nanoparticles, zirconia nanoparticles, titania nanoparticles, and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an adhesive made from a reaction product of: (a) a polymerizable monomer derived at least in part from non-petroleum resources; (b) an initiator; (c) a polymeric stabilizer, wherein the reaction occurs in water to yield a microsphere adhesive. The microsphere adhesive can be formulated into a pressure sensitive adhesive composition that can be applied to various substrates such as paper and polymeric film to produce repositionable adhesive coated articles such as tapes, notes, flags, easels and the like.
Abstract:
An adhesive composition comprising an emulsion polymer which comprises a (meth)acrylate copolymer and silica nanoparticles is described. The addition of the nanoparticles results in a significant increase in the overlap shear properties of the adhesive while maintaining the peel adhesion.
Abstract:
Described are adhesive compositions containing a mixture of a pressure sensitive adhesive, a high Tg polymer, and a crosslinker to form a compatibilized blend that is optically clear. Methods of using the adhesive compositions, and multilayer assemblies such as optical elements prepared using the adhesives, are also provided.
Abstract:
Composite layer comprising a plurality of longitudinal, generally parallel first zones comprised of a first polymeric material each encapsulated in a second polymeric material. There are at least 10 longitudinal first zones per cm.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an adhesive made from a reaction product of: (a) one or more polymerizable monomer selected from the group consisting of n-C 6 to n-C 14 (meth)acrylates derived at least in part from non-petroleum resources; (b) an initiator; (c) a polymeric stabilizer, wherein the reaction occurs in water to yield a microsphere adhesive. The microsphere adhesive can be formulated into a pressure sensitive adhesive composition that can be applied to various substrates such as paper and polymeric film to produce repositionable adhesive coated articles such as tapes, notes, flags, easels, and the like.
Abstract:
A curable composition is provided comprising an oligomer having a plurality of pendent and/or terminal ethylenically unsaturated, free-radically polymerizable functional groups, a free-radically polymerizable crosslinking agent, and/or a diluent monomer, and a photoinitiator. The composition, when cured, is non-yellowing, exhibits low shrinkage and low birefringence making it suitable for many optical applications such as optical lenses, optical fibers, prisms, light guides, optical adhesives, and optical films.

Abstract:
Composite layer comprising a plurality of longitudinal first zones comprised of a first polymeric material alternating with a plurality of longitudinal second zones comprised of a second polymeric material such that one first zone is disposed between two adjacent second zones. The zones are generally parallel to one another, and at least one of each first zone or each second zone has a maximum width dimension of not greater than 2 mm. Adjacent first and second zones have an average pitch, wherein for the composite layer there is an average of said average pitches, and wherein the average pitch for any adjacent first and second zones is within 20 percent of the average pitch for adjacent first and second zones of said average of said average pitches.
