Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies for the detection of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) antigen are provided. The antibodies specifically immunoreactive with at least one epitope of the lipid binding domain of amino acid residues 134-171 of HCV core antigen. Immunoassay methods of using antibodies, kits and compositions comprising the antibodies for detecting HCV infection are further provided.
