    摘要: The present application discloses an isolated nucleic acid molecule for detecting the presence of a target nucleic acid sequence and uses thereof, wherein said molecule is capable of forming bimolecular interactions with a target nucleic acid sequence and forms a ternary complex stabilising a detection agent when bound. The detection agent is preferably DFHBI ((Z)-4-(3,5-difluoro-4-hydroxybenzylidene)-1,2-dimethyl-1 H -imidazol-5(4 H )-one. The target nucleic acid is preferably a miRNA sequence. Preferably, the isolated nucleic acid sequence comprises two domains that complementarily bind to the 5' and 3' ends of the target nucleic acid sequence. The isolated nucleic acid sequence also comprises regions of nucleic acids that do not bind with the target nucleic acid sequence and are capable of forming secondary structures, such as stems, stem loops, t-RNA type structures, cloverleaves, tetraloops and pseudoknots. The application further discloses corresponding methods of determining a disease in a subject by using the isolated nucleic acid sequence to detect one or more disease-specific target nucleic acids.
