Abstract:
Techniques that facilitate pairing of wireless devices (102, 104) with other wireless devices are disclosed. Once paired, the wireless devices can exchange data in a wireless manner. According to one embodiment, a pairing process can be secured through use of physical proximity (304), or even physical connection, of wireless devices to be paired. According to another embodiment, user actions to provoke or perform, pairing can be reduced or eliminated. According to still another embodiment, a wireless device being paired can be configured using configuration information provided from another wireless device being paired.
Abstract:
A retail electronic product demonstration fixture for demonstrating portable electronic devices. The product demonstration fixture may include an exhibition portion and a base portion. A portable electronic device offered for sale may be affixed to the exhibition portion. The base portion may include an electronic display, an auxiliary battery, and an auxiliary controller. The auxiliary controller may direct power from the auxiliary battery to the electronic display upon determining that a battery within the electronic display has fallen below a particular selected level. Similarly the auxiliary controller may direct power from the auxiliary battery to the portable electronic device offered for sale upon determining that a battery within the portable electronic device has fallen below a selected level.
Abstract:
A display system that includes a housing, at least one light source, a diffuser, and control circuitry is provided. The housing can have an internal wall and a signal indicator region. The at least one light source can be located within the housing. The diffuser can be disposed between the at least one light source and the internal wall. The control circuitry can be electrically coupled to and operable to cause the at least one light source to emit light that passes through the diffuser to the signal indicator region. A method for displaying signals in a headset including a signal indicator region is provided. The method can include emitting light from at least one LED. The method can include transmitting the light through a diffuser and onto the signal indicator region. The diffuser can include a substantially transparent substrate in which a plurality of translucent particles are embedded.
Abstract:
A trim is provided which may be substantially concealed in an electronic device housing. Embodiments may be configured to distribute received forces away from internal components of an electronic device. Further some embodiments may be configured to align an electronic device housing with the internal plug receptacle for ease of assembly. Some embodiments may be configured to align a plug with the plug receptacle during plug attachment to ensure the correct attachment of the plug. Further embodiments may be made of a substantially rigid material to sustain repeated cycles plug insertion and removal. Additional embodiments may limit the ability for moisture to access the internal components of the electronic device. Certain embodiments may be interposed between a plug receptacle and an electronic device housing.
Abstract:
Attachment mechanisms that may be employed to attach accessory devices to electronic devices are provided. The attachment mechanism may include a displaceable post that is moveable between deployed and stored configurations. In the deployed configuration an accessory may be attached to the displaceable post, whereas in the stored configuration the displaceable post may be at least partially inaccessible. Movement of the displaceable post may be controlled by cam surfaces, a spring, and a follower. The spring may be conical and configured to fold flat to reduce the height of the attachment mechanism.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide a battery cell. The battery cell includes a set of layers including a cathode with an active coating, a separator, and an anode with an active coating. The battery cell also includes a pouch enclosing the layers. Finally, the battery cell has a three-dimensional non-rectangular shape to facilitate efficient use of space within a portable electronic device powered by the battery cell: For example a hole (202) may extend through both the layers and the pouch. The battery tabs (204, 206), or an electronic component such as a BMU, can be located in said hole.
Abstract:
An electronic device having a housing structure that is configured to receive at least one glass cover is disclosed. The glass cover serves to cover a display assembly provided within the electronic device. The glass cover can be secured to the housing structure so as to facilitate providing a narrow border between an active display area and an outer edge of the housing structure. The enclosure for the electronic device can be thin yet be sufficiently strong to be suitable for use in electronic devices, such as portable electronic devices.
Abstract:
Headset assemblies and headset connectors are provided. Headset connectors can include a magnetic mating face and a plurality of electrical contacts disposed within the mating face. Engaging assemblies and engaging connectors are also provided. The engaging connectors can include a housing having a mating side, a magnetic array structure, and a plurality of spring biased contact members. The magnetic array structure can be fixed within the housing and house a plurality of spring biased contact members. The spring biased contact members can include tips that extend out of the mating side. The tips can electrically couple with electrical contacts in a headset connector.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to apparatuses, systems, methods, and computer readable media that can facilitate the transfer of power between at least two electrical devices. At least one of the electrical devices is preferably a battery operated device. The present invention may also be used to facilitate the transfer of information among electrical devices. For example, the present invention may be used to automatically pair two Bluetooth devices together.
