Abstract:
A method of hardening an article of manufacture that includes a body that defines a longitudinal axis made of a material that is capable of being hardened and that is intended for a particular use is provided. The method may comprise locally heating the material at a first location found on the article along the axis to a first predetermined depth in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis and locally heating the material at a second location found on the article along the axis to a second predetermined depth in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis.
Abstract:
A rotating track guide component (100, 200) includes a tubular or annular substrate (120, 204) having a longitudinal length (104, 206) and an outer surface (106, 208). The outer surface (106, 208) includes at least one flat portion or one curved portion (209), and at least one wear member (110, 210). The at least one wear member (110, 210) includes a flat inner surface or curved inner surface (212), and the at least one wear member (110, 210) is fixed to the tubular or annular substrate (120, 204).
Abstract:
A ground-engaging track shoe (34) in a track joint assembly (35) includes a shoe plate (42) having bolt holes extending through a middle plate section (44) between a planar link-bolting surface (54) and a ground-contact surface (56). A weight relief channel (68) is formed in the middle plate section (44) upon a link-bolting side (55) of the track shoe (34), and extends inwardly from the planar link-bolting surface (54). The weight relief channel (68) is arranged between a forward bolt hole set (58) of the bolt holes and a back bolt hole set (60) of the bolt holes in a fore-aft direction.
Abstract:
A track shoe (100) includes a ground engaging surface (104), and a track link engaging surface (106). A hole (108) extends through the shoe (100) from the ground engaging surface (104) to the track link engaging surface (106). The ground engaging surface (104) includes a first region (114, 114a) disposed adjacent the hole (108), and a second region (116) extending from the first region (114, 114a) away from the hole (108) having a different surface roughness than the first surface roughness.
Abstract:
An idler wheel (200) for use with a track chain of a vehicle that includes a plurality of track pins and bushings comprises a main body (202) that includes a generally cylindrical configuration defining an axis of rotation (A), a circumferential direction (C) and a radial direction (R), the main body (202) including a central portion (204) disposed along the axis of rotation (A) defining an axial extremity of the radial portion, and at least a first outside portion (208) disposed along the axis of rotation (A) that includes an undulating circumferential perimeter (210).
Abstract:
A track link assembly (26) is disclosed. The track link assembly may have a left link pair (76) having left links (46). The left links may be disposed in-line with each other and separated by a left link gap (54). The track link assembly may also have a right link pair (78) having right links (48). The right links may be disposed in-line with each other and separated by a right link gap (56). The right link pair may be disposed opposite the left link pair. The track link assembly may have at least one pin (58) configured to pivotably connect the left link pair and the right link pair. The left link gap may be offset from the right link gap relative to an axis (196) of the at least one pin.
