Abstract: This invention relates to a catwalk which is installed along the side of upper swing structure of construction machine such as large hydraulic excavator. When the upper structure swings at construction work, the end of longer side of the catwalk is susceptible to damage by hitting with materials like piled mud near the machine. The object of this invention is to provide a catwalk which prevents the damage effectively, and has stable walkway. According to the invention, the catwalk (16) has an outer tilt up portion (18) and an inner tilt up portion (19) at most outer end (H) from swing center (X). The outer tilt up portion (18) is installed around first axis (Yl) near the side (6a), and has outer walkway (Fl) above the axis (Yl) and outer from the side (6a), and is installed to rotate between horizontal and upper positions. The inner tilt up portion (19) is installed around second axis (Y2) above the first axis (Yl), and has inner walkway (F2) on the same plain with outer walkway (Fl), and is installed to rotate between horizontal and upper positions with the push up movement of the outer tilt up portion (18). When the outer tilt up portion (18) hits with materials like piled mud (S), it rotates upward (Z2) with the inner tilt up portion (19) and prevents damages of the catwalk.

Abstract: Provided is an operating device for a construction machine that prevents an operator from accidentally gripping the blocking bar when the operator walks through the passage in front of the console box and that also prevents work clothes of the operator from being caught in the blocking bar. An operating device (6) for a construction machine includes: a console box (10) having an operating lever (8) attached to an upper surface thereof, wherein the operating lever (8) outputs a signal for operating the construction machine in response to a manual operation; and a blocking bar (16) that is swingably attached to the console box (10) about an axis extending widthwise between a block position at which to block a passage (14) provided in front of the console box (10) and a retreat position at which the blocking bar (16) retreats from the passage (14). A recess (18) is formed in a front end of a lateral side of the console box (10). The blocking bar (16) is housed in the recess (18) when it is positioned at the retreat position.
