Abstract: Apparatus (10) for use with barrier movement systems (16) in which a flexible member (26, 26') is used to move or support the barrier. The apparatus measures tension in the flexible member and generates a signal when the tension eases beyond a predetermined point. Additionally, the apparatus includes a stop member (83) which moves in response to easing tension to a position to stop further barrier movement.
