Abstract:
Techniques are provided for updating best path based on real-time congestion feedback. A method comprises mointoring packets received from an intemetworked system (100), wherein the packets are received on one of a plurality of external interfaces of a networking device (162); detecting that a received packet includes real-time information that signals a present or pending congestion condition on a path from the external interfaces of the networking device to the intemetworked system; notifying a control logic of th real-time information; receiving from the control logic (102) control information defining-a change in one or more paths from the external interfaces to the intemetworked system; and changing the one or more paths from the external interfaces of an intemetworke system can cause changes to routes, routing policies and PBRs in routers of the first intemetworked system in response to real-time congestion.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method comprises obtaining, by a client device via a wireless data link with a wireless access point, information from a network device within a data network reachable via the wireless access point, the information describing network conditions associated with a service provided to the client device via the data network; and the client device optimizing a transmission control protocol (TCP) communication, via the wireless data link, for optimization of the service provided by the client device.
