Abstract: A keying scheme for single pair connectors provides the functionality needed to provide an institution with a level of security for private networks. The keying scheme relies upon three keying features to create at least seven different keying patterns, whose uniqueness can be additionally enhanced through color coding. The keying schemes for a single pair free connector include extensions that extend beyond a standardized forward face perimeter. Corresponding keying schemes are provided in mating receptacle connectors and couplers.

Abstract: A shielded in-line connector includes conductive first and second body portions, each with a clip securement feature, as well as conductive first and second clips. The first and second body portions are secured to one another to define an unshielded connector-receiving cavity as well as first and second shielded cable openings; each of the first and second shielded cable openings being proximate the respective clip securement feature. Each of the clip securement features includes a channel supportive of a respective shielded cable extending from each of the first and second shielded cable openings; each of the shielded cables having an exposed shield. The first and second clips are adjustably secured to a respective one of the first and second securement features to position the respective clip in direct contact with the exposed shield of the respective shielded cable.

Abstract: A telecommunications patch panel system (10) including a plurality of multiport telecommunications bezel assemblies (200) installed within a panel frame (100) is presented. The bezel assemblies (200) are formed from cooperating first and second frame parts (210, 240) to define a plurality of jack receptacle openings (202). In one example, the plurality of jack receptacles (202) are arranged in a two-row array. The first and second frame parts (210, 240) also retain a central bonding strip (290) having a plurality of grounding contact elements (292, 293). The grounding contact elements (292, 293) ground the jack modules (120) that are installed within the bezel assembly jack receptacle openings (202). Where a two-row array of jack receptacle openings (202) is provided, the central bonding strip (290) can be configured to extend between the rows. The central bonding strip (290) can provide grounding for multiple bezel assemblies (200).

Abstract: A coupler couples a first connector with a second connector wherein each of the connectors is coupled to exactly two electrical conductors. Each coupler can be utilized in a shielded (e.g., metal) or non- shielded (e.g. non-metal) form as appropriate to a specific application. Each coupler includes exactly one pair of pin contacts, preferably with a square or rectangular cross-section. Each end of the pin contacts includes four tapered faces that join at a flattened apex and are configured to be received by the tuning fork contact of the connector. The pair of pin contacts are offset from one another and cross one another within the coupler to maintain electrical polarity as electricity travels from the tuning fork contacts of a first connector to the pin contacts of the coupler and onward to the tuning fork contacts of a second connector.

Abstract: A connector includes a forward connector body, a rear connector body that interfaces with the forward connector body and a metal frame positioned about the forward and rear connectors bodies.
