    Abstract: Quick connect mechanisms between a fluid filter and a head that permits quick connection/disconnection between the two. The mechanisms clamp the filter shell in place with a plurality of radially displaceable locking elements. When the filter is inserted into the head, an element that controls the radial displacement of the locking element is rotated to radially displace the locking elements and lock the shell in place. External sealing is achieved by the means of suitable sealing elements, for example a compression face seal and/or a radial O-ring seal. The clamping force comes from the rotation of the control element to a lock position which displaces the locking elements in a radial direction to a lock position. When the control element is rotated to an unlock position, the locking elements are free to move or are actuated to an unlock position, allowing the filter to be removed.

    Abstract: A valve-sensor assembly for a filter assembly that filters water from a fluid. The valve- sensor assembly includes a sensor body and a drain valve body. The sensor body includes a filter element engagement portion having a hollow interior that extends longitudinally through a length of the sensor body and a protrusion that extends circumferentially along an exterior surface of the filter element engagement portion. The sensor body further includes one or more water-in-fluid sensors provided at the exterior surface of the filter element engagement portion. The drain valve body includes a main body having a drain port, and a valve extending from the main body and extending at least partially within the hollow interior. The valve has an interior passage in fluid communication with the drain port.

    Abstract: A filtration system comprises a housing and a shell housing removably coupled to the housing. A valve comprise a valve housing and a plunger. The plunger comprises a seal member structured to seal an opening in the valve housing. The plunger is axially movable between a closed position, in which the seal member seals the opening, and an open position, in which the seal member does not seal the opening, thereby permitting fluid to flow through the valve housing. A filter element comprises filter media and an endcap. The endcap comprises an alignment tab configured to rotationally secure the filter element with respect to the shell housing when the shell housing is received in the housing. The endcap comprise a valve interaction projection structured to transfer rotation of the filter element and the shell housing to the plunger during installation of the filter element.
