Abstract: Quick connect mechanisms between a fluid filter and a head that permits quick connection/disconnection between the two. The mechanisms clamp the filter shell in place with a plurality of radially displaceable locking elements. When the filter is inserted into the head, an element that controls the radial displacement of the locking element is rotated to radially displace the locking elements and lock the shell in place. External sealing is achieved by the means of suitable sealing elements, for example a compression face seal and/or a radial O-ring seal. The clamping force comes from the rotation of the control element to a lock position which displaces the locking elements in a radial direction to a lock position. When the control element is rotated to an unlock position, the locking elements are free to move or are actuated to an unlock position, allowing the filter to be removed.

Abstract: Various example embodiments relate to an automatic drain system for use with a fluid water separator. The automatic drain system includes a liquid-in-fuel sensor. The liquid in-fuel sensor is configured to detect a liquid level in a water sump. The solenoid has an open state and a closed state. A control unit is configured to activate the solenoid in response to a signal from the liquid-in-fuel sensor. Activation of the solenoid causes the solenoid to go from the closed state to the open state. The automatic drain system is placed in a condition for allowing fluid flow through the automatic drain system from the water sump.

Abstract: A fuel water separator filter having a filter that separates water from a fuel and an adapter having a first end connected to an end of the filter. A second end of the adapter can detachably connect the filter to a plurality of bowls having different sizes. The adapter may detachably connect to the end of the filter or may be permanently connected to the end of the filter. The filter may be a spin-on filter. The adapter may include a first connecting portion that connects to the filter and a second connecting portion that connects to the bowl. The adapter may further include a basin having a plurality of bypass passages that allows the separated water to flow from the filter to the bowl.

Abstract: A filter precleaner for precleaning an unfiltered gaseous mixture. A coalescing filter includes a filter media for filtering a gas, a nozzle assembly for precleaning an unfiltered gaseous mixture, and a lower endplate. The nozzle assembly includes a first nozzle plate positioned upstream of the filter media. The lower endplate is positioned at a lower end of the filter media beneath the first nozzle plate. The lower endplate allows liquid to drain through the lower endplate. The unfiltered gaseous mixture impacts the lower endplate such that liquid from the unfiltered gaseous mixture flows through the lower endplate and gas from the unfiltered gaseous mixture flows through the filter media.
