Abstract:
A sensor may be used to detect a previous or current change of state, and the change may be reported by a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. In some embodiments, the change may represent a broken security seal, which in turn may affect an electrical connection that can be sensed by the RFID tag during operation of the RFID tag.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for processing a video stream to reduce platform power by employing a stepped and distributed pipeline process, wherein CPU-intensive processing is selectively performed. The techniques are particularly well-suited for hand-based navigational gesture processing. In one example case, for instance, the techniques are implemented in a computer system wherein initial threshold detection (image disturbance) and optionally user presence (hand image) processing components are proximate to or within the system's camera, and the camera is located in or proximate to the system's primary display. In some cases, image processing and communication of pixel information between various processing stages which lies outside a markered region is suppressed. In some embodiments, the markered region is aligned with, a mouse pad or designated desk area or a user input device such as a keyboard. Pixels evaluated by the system can be limited to a subset of the markered region.
Abstract:
Briefly, a device and method of sharing a software component within a wireless ad hoc network based upon a priori knowledge of a mutual association shared by devices within the wireless ad hoc network.
Abstract:
A mobile ad hoc network may be established between a plurality of devices (10) that have common contacts on their contact list. The contact lists (46) may be conventional contacts stored in a list of contacts on a scheduling and information management or other software packages in one embodiment. Communications with various devices (10) is limited to those devices (10) listed on the list of contacts (46). Modification of those lists of contacts (46) is controlled on a password-protected basis in one embodiment. Thus, a parent, for example, may limit the ability of child users to contact or be contacted by and communicate with unauthorized persons.
Abstract:
Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device, that includes a circuit board coupled to a plurality of electronic components (which includes any type of components, elements, circuitry, etc.). One particular example implementation of the electronic device may include a main housing, a flexible display, and a touchscreen, wherein regions of the touchscreen can be reconfigured based on an orientation of the flexible display.
Abstract:
A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag circuit or RFID tag may be fabricated on a printed circuit board (PCB) and/or on a printed circuit panel from which PCB's are made. In some embodiments the RFID tag may be created early in the fabrication process and become operational before the PCB has been finished.
Abstract:
A mobile ad-hoc network device includes application software. The device constructs its routing table, listing reachable devices with the same application software. The routing table knowledge is dynamic, as devices enter and leave the network or their parameters change.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus relating to thermal throttling of WiDi (Wireless Display) video stream resolution are described. In an embodiment, logic generates one or more signals to cause a processor to a change the resolution and/or frame rate of a video stream in response to input from one or more sensors and one or more values. The one or more signals can also cause wireless display logic to modify a compression level of the video stream received from the processor prior to transmission of a compressed version of the video stream to a display device. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, a system includes a peripheral controller to interface with a touch controller and to communicate mapping information to identify primary and secondary regions of a display. The touch controller includes logic to filter touch data when it is for a touch within the secondary region and to communicate the touch data to the peripheral controller when it is for the user touch within the primary region. In an embodiment, display logic may determine when and how to use a display bezel area for displaying content, via a combination of criteria. Decision vectors (such as sensors, device configuration, content type, primary display activity) may enable/disable display areas for rendering, with independent control of each side of the bezel. Content can be rendered based on primary display content, environment, other devices and user preferences. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
