Abstract: An actuator housing assembly that includes an actuator housing that has a cavity that contains a phase-change material that is configured to continue to absorb heat as the phase-change material changes phases. The actuator housing assembly also includes an electronic actuator that is secured to the actuator housing. At least a portion of the cavity may be positioned to surround at least a portion of the electronic actuator. The phase-change material is configured to prevent the transfer of heat in the actuator housing to the electronic actuator. The actuator housing may also include an electronic control board that is used in controlling the operation of the electronic actuator.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a plurality of actuators that assists in controlling the operation of a motorized vehicle. The apparatus includes a centralized actuator control module that is positioned remotely from an engine control unit. The centralized actuator control module includes a processor that is configured to control the operation of the actuators. The apparatus may include a first communication cable that is configured to deliver information between the centralized actuator control module and the engine control unit. An actuator communication cable may be configured to deliver power from the centralized actuator control module to one or more of the plurality of actuators. The apparatus may include a second communication cable configured to deliver sensed data to the centralized actuator control module that the centralized actuator control module uses to determine whether to operate one or more of the actuators.

Abstract: A fluid mixing system has first fluid conduit and second fluid conduit in fluid communication with the first fluid conduit. The second fluid conduit includes a first tube and a second tube, wherein at least one of the first and second tubes causes a swirling or tumbling fluid flow. The fluid mixing system may be an exhaust gas recirculation system having an air intake conduit and an exhaust gas recirculation conduit, wherein the exhaust gas recirculation conduit causes a swirling or tumbling fluid flow. A method of introducing multiple fluids includes providing a first fluid flow in a conduit, providing a second fluid flow in a first tube, and providing a third fluid flow in a second tube. Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation valve has a cast metal body having at least one cooling circuit that is cast in to the cast metal body. The cooling circuit includes a coolant inlet, a coolant outlet, and passage between the inlet and the outlet. Another device has a cast metal body, and electronics cooling circuit cast into the metal body, and a valve cooling circuit cast into the metal body. The electronics cooling circuit cools at least one of a circuit board and a motor. The valve cooling circuit cools at least one of a valve shaft and a gear train. A method of manufacturing an exhaust gas recirculation valve includes providing a mold having a cast pattern comprising at least one cooling circuit in the mold. The cooling circuit includes a coolant inlet, a coolant outlet, and a coolant passage between the inlet and outlet. The method further involves introducing molten metal or alloy to the mold, and cooling the molten metal or alloy, to form a cast metal device having the pattern of the mold including the cooling circuit.

Abstract: A pressure relief valve is associated with a throttle valve to shunt flow around a throttle valve element which is selectively positionable to throttle flow through the throttle valve. In a presently disclosed embodiment, a throttle valve comprises a valve body circumscribing a main flow passage extending along a central longitudinal axis between an inlet and an outlet.
