摘要: Embodiments of golf club head faceplates comprising a lattice to improve the energy storage capabilities and minimize stress concentrations are described herein. The lattice can comprise a plurality of flexure shapes that facilitate in faceplate bending. The flexure shapes of the lattice can comprise a reentrant, concave, or non-convex shape. The lattice can comprise at least one repeating pattern of flexure shapes that can be interconnected or spaced apart. During golf ball impacts, the flexure shapes flex to store energy through linear and torsional bending.

摘要: Embodiments of golf club heads with components composed of a metal-composite-metal construction are described herein. The metal -composite-metal construction makes up a portion of the golf club head. The metal-composite-metal construction can make up any one or combination of the following structures: faceplate, face insert, internal ribs, turbulators, crown insert, or weight channel. The composite layer of the metal-composite-metal construction is composed of reinforced fibers. The metal-composite-metal construction allows for weight savings in the golf club head while maintaining durability, strength, rigidity, and performance.

摘要: The invention presented herein is directed to a back cavity insert for a cavity-backed iron-type golf club head. The rear perimeter of the iron-type golf club head and the rear surface of a strikeface cooperate to define a back cavity. The rear perimeter can comprise any edge or percentage of the perimeter of the back cavity. An insert may be placed into the back cavity such that the insert covers at least 60 percent to 100 percent of the strikeface rear surface area. When the insert is attached to the iron-type golf club head strikeface rear surface, it will interact with the iron-type golf club head strikeface when the strikeface deforms and rebounds. The insert thickness, composition, and stiffened outer surface may unduly restrain the deformation or flexing of the strikeface and reduce the amount of energy returned to the golf ball.

摘要: The golf club head described herein can have a metal body and a non-metal insert. The insert forms an entire toe end of the club head. The insert can have an offset surface, located behind the strike face of the body, wherein the insert and strike face form a gap therebetween. The insert offset surface can comprise a backstop that temporarily restricts bending of a center of the strike face during a golf ball impact. The gap between the strike face and the insert allows the strike face to flex while the backstop prevents the strike face from over flexing. In one embodiment, the golf club head can comprise a body having an interior cavity that opens towards a toe end. The insert can form an outermost surface of the toe end and fill a portion of the cavity.
