Abstract:
The present invention relates to a scanning device (10, 10') for scanning an object (12), wherein the scanning device (10) comprises a projection unit (16) for projecting an alignment image (28) onto the object (12), said alignment image (28) comprising a main pattern (26), an image capturing unit (18) for capturing a live camera image (30) of the object (12), said live camera image (30) comprising a derivative pattern (32) of the main pattern (26), the derivative pattern (32) representing said projected alignment image (28) as seen from the image capturing unit viewpoint, and an alignment unit (22, 22') for providing an indication of a correct position and/or orientation of the scanning device (10) with respect to the scanned object (12) on the basis of the captured live camera image (30).
Abstract:
The present application discloses a bladder monitoring system comprising a wearable bladder monitoring device (1) including securing means (27, 29) for securing the device to a subject's (40) body; a phased array (11) of ultrasound transducers (10); and a phased array controller (13) adapted to control the phased array to direct a plurality of ultrasound beams (30, 30', 30") into the subject's body under a range of beam angles, as well as a signal processor (23) adapted to receive data pertaining to echo signals (31, 31', 31") of said ultrasound beams from the phased array. The signal processor is adapted to process said data in order to identify an edge of the subject's pelvic bone (43) proximal to the subject's bladder (41) from data pertaining to at least one of said echo signals; determine an orientation of the wearable bladder monitoring device relative to the pelvic bone based on beam angle information associated with the at least one of said echo signals; and derive bladder information from the data based on the determined orientation. A method of obtaining bladder (volume) information with such a system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Various improvements are provided to breathing training, monitoring and/or assistance devices. A portable device is provided which optionally includes a gas canister, a feedback system for implementing pressure control, and a visual output for indicating adherence to a breathing exercise to the user. The pressure control may provide regulation of different pressures for inhalation and exhalation.
Abstract:
A video analysis device (3), configured to receive video sequences of an environment within a field of view (8) of a camera (7), and to analyze the video sequences as regards behavior of persons present in the video sequences. The video analysis device is configured to determine a footprint (15) of at least one light source (9) illuminating an area within the field of view with coded light. The coded light carries a unique light source identification for each light source. Furthermore, the video analysis device is configured to receive association information associating at least one object (13) with the light source identification of each light source illuminating each object, and to determine an analysis area (17) within the field of view where said analysis of the video sequences is to be done. The determination is done for each object, and by means of the association information.
Abstract:
A cushion arrangement for a patient interface (for communicating with the nose or the nose and mouth of a patient) comprises a cushion and a shaping structure in contact with the cushion. The shaping structure comprises a thermo-shrink material, and the local dimension of the themo-shrink material determines a level of local compression or expansion of the cushion. The shaping structure enables the cushion to be customised for the end user.
Abstract:
A system for monitoring blood distribution in a subject, the system comprising a processor(38) responsive to Doppler ultrasound data representing arterial blood flow in at least two different locations of the subject, such as the neck and the arm, to obtain velocity (C, B1, B2, B3) or volumetric flow rate at each location, to monitor changes in a predetermined function of the blood flows, and to provide an output indicative of the monitored changes which may result from blood volume centralization. This can indicate the onset of hypovolemia or hypervolemia.
Abstract:
A breathing training, monitoring and/or assistance device is provided for home use. The device is for providing support and guidance during the training of breathing exercises. The device takes account of external data which relates to one or more of: the environmental conditions in which the device is being used; activity information in respect of the user; physiological sensor data about the user which is not related to breathing characteristics.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for evaluating the start of an assay in a fluidic chamber, wherein said start of the assay is based on the dissolving of a reagent in a region of interest in said fluidic chamber. The method may be based on the detection of an optical effect in the region of interest caused by the dissolving of the reagent, comprising the steps: obtaining an optical signal from one or more sub-sections of said region of interest; processing said optical signal to a Boolean signal; and defining the start of the assay based on said Boolean signal. The present invention also relates to a method for evaluating the start of an assay comprising an electrical detection of a change in the conductivity or permittivity of fluid due to the dissolving of reagent as mentioned above. Furthermore, the invention relates to a program element or computer program for evaluating the start of an assay and to an evaluation system for determining the start of an assay, comprising a computer processor, memory, and (a) data storage device(s), the memory having programming instructions to execute such a program element or computer program.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a template (10) and a system (50) for collecting data of a face of a subject. The system (50) comprises at least the template (10) and a camera (52). The template (10) comprises at least one computer-detectable element and allows to take a single image of a face of a subject which is positioned in an opening of the template and to derive subject dimensions of the face of the subject based on this single image. The present invention relates also to according methods.
