Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support CSI age reporting. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a wireless communication device, a message indicating channel state information (CSI) age reporting; transmitting, by the wireless communication device, a CSI report associated with a first window length and a second window length and indicating at least the second window length, wherein the first window length is associated with computing CSI before an uplink slot of the CSI report, and wherein the second window length is associated with a period of time for which the CSI report is valid. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for activating antenna groups at a user equipment (UE) for communications with a base station. The UE may receive an indication of at least one active antenna group for communications with the base station, and the UE may map one or more layers of an uplink message to the at least one active antenna group. The UE may then transmit the one or more layers of the uplink message using the at least one active antenna group based on the mapping. In some cases, the UE may transmit a capability report to the base station indicating one or more antennas in each antenna group in a set of antenna groups at the UE, and the base station may activate the at least one active antenna group from the set of antenna groups.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control signaling that schedules resources for receiving downlink reference signaling during a time period and for transmitting uplink reference signaling during the time period. The downlink reference signaling may be channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS), while the uplink reference signaling may be sounding reference signals (SRS). The UE may measure, for each of a set of downlink beams associated with the downlink reference signaling, an interference for each of a set of uplink reference signal resources associated with the uplink reference signaling. The UE may transmit a report that indicates an uplink resource restriction associated with one or more of the set of downlink beams based on the measured interference.

Abstract: A signaling design for uplink precoding with restricted uplink transmit power is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) may have a plurality of transmit antenna ports power limited according to a power amplifier associated with each antenna. The UE determines a maximum transmit power for each of its transmit antenna ports and signals a per transmit antenna power restriction along with its other power class information to a serving base station. The per transmit antennas power restriction is based on the determined maximum transmit power for each antenna. The serving base station may then use the per transmit antenna power restriction to adjust a transmitted precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) for the associated UE to accommodate the per antenna power restriction. The UE can then transmit at an uplink transmit power for the each antenna according to the TPMI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support non-periodic channel state information (CSI) triggering and reporting in wireless communications. In cases where two or more CSI report requests trigger multiple CSI report transmissions in an same uplink slot, a user equipment (UE) may format at least a subset of the multiple CSI reports according to a formatting configuration for transmission of multiple CSI reports in a same uplink slot. The UE may use allocated resources in the uplink slot for each CSI report that are allocated by the base station in the corresponding CSI report request. In some cases, the UE may combine the multiple CSI reports, or parts thereof, into a combined CSI report that may be transmitted using allocated resources of one of the CSI report requests.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that support a low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) precoded reference signal design for multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) transmissions. A user equipment (UE) may identify multiple sets of symbols associated with different reference signal waveforms, where each reference signal waveform may be associated with a low PAPR. In some cases, different single-carrier reference signal waveforms may be mapped to subsets of frequency resources through frequency division multiplexing (FDM) for a transmission on a single antenna. However, the addition of single-carrier waveforms through FDM for a transmission via an antenna may result in an uplink transmission having a high PAPR (e. g., as compared to single-carrier waveforms). The UE may reduce the PAPR of the uplink transmission by multiplexing the reference signal waveforms in the time domain (e. g., using time division multiplexing (TDM)).

The base station may transmit a first control message to the UE to indicate a set of downlink resources for a downlink message associated with the subband uplink precoding information for the UE. The base station may transmit a second control message to the UE to indicate a set of uplink resources for an uplink message. The base station may transmit the downlink message to the UE via the set of downlink resources indicated by the first control message. The downlink message, the second control message, or both may include the subband uplink precoding information for the UE. The UE may transmit an uplink message to the base station via the set of uplink resources using the subband uplink precoding information.
