A method for transmitting a preamble over a Random Access CHannel (RACH) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes generating a preamble having a length longer than a basic transmission unit, and dividing the preamble into preambles having a length less than the basic transmission unit; and sequentially transmitting the divided preambles over the RACH using different antennas.
Abstract:
A method for receiving control information by a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication systemis provided. The method includes monitoring channel quality of a control channel, determining whether reconfiguration of the control channel is needed, based on the channel quality of the control channel, if the reconfiguration of the control channel is needed, requesting an evolved Node B (eNB) to reconfigure the control channel, and receiving the control information through the reconfigured control channel.

A method for allocating frequency resources to be used for multiple terminals in a Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) wireless communication system. The method includes performing at a first transmission time a process of hierarchizing a series of resource units constituting a service frequency band in a plurality of levels, and hierarchically dividing the series of resource units into blocks including at least one consecutive resource unit in each of the levels, and allocating some of the hierarchically divided blocks as frequency resources for each of the terminals; and performing, at a second transmission time, a process of hierarchically hopping the blocks allocated as the frequency resources for each of the terminals so that the blocks each have a different frequency band from a frequency band used at the first transmission time, and allocating the hopped blocks as frequency resources for each of the terminals.

An apparatus and method allocate resources in a communication system including at least one relay station (RS). A control channel carrying control information from a BS to an MS is allocated into a first time region of a subframe. A data channel carrying data from the BS to the MS, an RS-control channel carrying control information from the BS to an RS, and an RS-data channel carrying data from the BS to the RS are allocated into a second time region of the subframe, using Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM). And the subframe into which the control channel, the data channel, the RS-control channel and the RS-data channel are allocated is transmitted.

An apparatus and method for transmitting a message in a mobile communication system are provided, in which a short message is generated to be sent together with a preamble signal on the RACH, for uplink transmission, the short message and the preamble signal are spread with different orthogonal spreading codes, the phase of the short message is rotated to be orthogonal to the phase of the preamble signal, the phase-rotated short message is added to the preamble signal, and the sum is sent.
