Abstract:
A personal care composition for cosmetic treatment of skin that provides an improved moisturization signal to a user and exhibits good feel properties. The composition includes a blend of at least two dimethicone fluids with a viscosity of greater than 1000 centistokes (cSt). The dimethicone fluid(s) are configured to provide the composition with a Time Weighted Force Area of between 5 x 10 4 and 12 x 10 4 and a Mean Break Time of between 0.30 and 0.75.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a personal care composition containing a dispersed oil phase, a silicone elastomer and an aqueous phase. These compositions are rinsable and at the same time deposit oil and silicone elastomer onto all keratinous surfaces while providing improved skin feel. Additionally, the present invention relates to a method of using a rinse off personal care composition that contains an elastomer gel, a dispersion phase and an aqueous phase.
Abstract:
Disclosed are topical compositions, including methods of applying those compositions to absorb sweat and sebum from the skin, wherein the compositions comprise (A) fluid-absorbent solids having a Water Absorption Value of at least about 0.5 grams/gram; (B) an adhesive fluid; and (C) a liquid carrier; herein the composition has an Average Wear Index Value of at least about 60%. The topical compositions provide effective delivery and deposition of the fluid-absorbent solid onto the skin from an extended wear composition.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a product composition comprising: a discrete particle of a mixture composition, wherein the mixture composition comprises a surfactant and a high melting point fatty compound and a benefit agent; and an aqueous base composition comprising an aqueous carrier and water soluble polymer, wherein the base composition is substantially free of a detersive surfactant selected from anionic surfactants, zwitterionic surfactant, amphoteric surfactant, and combinations thereof. The product composition of the present invention provides at least one the followings: more flexibility in the product composition rheology; improved stability in the product composition; improved deposition of benefit agents; and improved visual/aesthetic appearance.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of preparing a product composition comprising steps of: Preparing a mixture composition comprising a surfactant and a high melting point fatty compound and benefit agent; Separately preparing an aqueous base composition comprising a surfactant, a high melting point fatty compound, and an aqueous carrier and wherein the aqueous base composition is substantially free of detersive surfactant; Mixing the mixture composition and the aqueous base composition to form a discrete particle of the mixture composition dispersed in the aqueous base composition. Alternatively, the method comprises steps of preparing a discrete particle of the mixture composition; and mixing it with the aqueous composition. The methods of the present invention provide a product composition with at least one the followings: more flexibility in the product composition rheology; improved stability in the product composition; improved deposition of benefit agents; and improved visual/aesthetic appearance.

Abstract:
A cosmetic foam composition comprising from 0.1% to 5%, by weight of the cosmetic foam composition, of a non-hydrocarbon propellant, and a liquid foamable composition comprising 0.05% to 5%, by weight of the liquid foamable composition, of a surfactant selected from the group consisting of a cationic surfactant, nonionic surfactant, and mixtures thereof, and 1% to 10%, by weight of the liquid foamable composition, of a fatty alcohol. The fatty alcohol together with cationic and/or nonionic surfactant produce a foam with lamellar structure, and the non-hydrocarbon propellant ensures the structure of the foam is held for a period of time.
Abstract:
Disclosed in a hair care composition comprising: a hair care composition comprises: A) a hair diameter increasing agent comprising: a xanthine compound; a vitamine B3 compound; and a panthenol compound; B) an additional benefit agent, such additional benefit is selected from the group consisting of hair volume-up, hair conditioning, hair strengthening, scalp sensation, hair color, scent, and mixtures thereof; and C) a carrier. The hair care compositions of the present invention increase hair diameter, and also provide: motivation to consumers to use such compositions for a longer period of time so that consumers can obtain hair diameter increase benefit; and/or at least one additional benefit, while not-compromising the penetration of the hair diameter increasing agent.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to silicone elastomer emulsion cosmetic compositions that comprise an internal phase that further includes a colorant. These compositions are intended to deliver such colorant ingredients to the skin of the user in such a manner as to provide a smooth and even colored appearance. In particular, the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising an emulsion that further comprises: a) a continuous aqueous phase comprising:1) from about 0.1% to about 10%, by weight of the composition, of a non-emulsifying crosslinked siloxane elastomer;b) a dispersed oil phase comprising: 1) from about 1% to about 25%, by weight of the composition, of an oil compatible colorant; and2) from about 0.01% to about 20%, by weight of the composition, of a binder; and c) from about 0.01% to about 15%, by weight of the composition, of an emulsifier.
Abstract:
A water-soluble pouch for hair care with a water-soluble fibrous facing sheet and a water-soluble backing sheet. The facing sheet and backing sheet are joined by a seal along at least a portion of the perimeter. A plurality of hair conditioner prills are disposed within the internal volume. The prills can include both cationic surfactant and fatty alcohol and can have a melting point greater than 45°.
