Abstract:
A method of knitting a knitted component 130 for an upper 120 of an article of footwear 100 is provided. The method may include using a flat knitting machine 200. The upper 120 may be configured to receive a foot of a wearer. The method may include performing a pass 1040of at least one yarn feeder 224 along the longitudinal axis 211 relative to first and second needle beds 210, 216, feeding at least one yarn 230, 232 with the at least one feeder 224 during the pass 1040, forming, during the pass 1040, a plurality of first loops 1022 with the first needles 206 to define a first portion 140 of the knitted component 130, and forming, during the pass 1040, a plurality of second loops 1022 with the second needles 212 to define a second portion 142 of the knitted component.
Abstract:
The present embodiments generally relate to an article of footwear (100) with multiple layers. The article of footwear (100) may include an inner layer (310) with a void (214) dimensioned for receipt of at least a portion of a foot. The article of footwear (100) may also include an outer layer (210), where the outer layer (210) at least partially surrounds the inner layer (310). A midsole (510) may be disposed between the inner and outer layers (310), where the midsole (510) is secured to the inner layer (310) and the outer layer (210) to thereby form an indirect coupling between the inner layer (310) and the outer layer (210). The inner layer (310) may be movable relative to the outer layer (210) at one or more locations separate from the indirect coupling.
Abstract:
Various articles may include a knitted component formed of multiple knitted component portions. The knitted component is formed of unitary knit construction and includes multiple tubular rib structures and multiple webbed areas. An article of footwear may include an upper incorporating a knitted component. The upper may be assembled through a wrapping process. The upper may comprise areas with tubular rib structures arranged in different orientations over the forefoot region, the midfoot region, the vamp region, and the heel region of the article of footwear. Some regions of the upper may have a greater number of tubular rib structures than other regions, and some tubular rib structures can include tensile elements.
Abstract:
An article of footwear includes a decoupled foot stabilizer system. The foot stabilizer system is decoupled from a midfoot region of the article of footwear. The foot stabilizer system includes a plurality of strap members. The foot stabilizer system may optionally include a bootie. The plurality of strap members extend underneath a portion of a foot of a wearer. The plurality of strap members are configured to receive a lace at one end. A lace running through the ends of the strap members pulls on the strap members when the lace is tightened and causes the foot stabilizer system to conform to the wearer's foot.
Abstract:
A footwear product that can include an adaptable shoe having an expandable sole assembly, or can include a method and system for providing customized shoe. The footwear product can include a method and system for assembling a plurality of footwear components to provide a custom footwear product, or a method and system for assembling a plurality of footwear components to provide a custom footwear product.
Abstract:
A method for utilizing a laser to etch a stratified material (40) is disclosed. The method includes providing a stratified material having at least two layers that are secured together, the layers including a first layer (41) and a second layer (42). An incision is then formed in the stratified material with a laser (51), the incision extending through the first layer to expose the second layer. The stratified material may then be incorporated into an upper of the article of footwear, for example. By exposing portions of the second layer, properties of the second layer may be exposed in the area of the removed first layer.
Abstract:
An improved footwear structure, which comprises an upper and a sole, associated to such upper. The footwear structure also comprises fitting means, which are associated to such upper and such sole for accommodating the internal volume of such footwear structure to the size of a user's foot by means of co-operating resilient deformations of such upper and such sole.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an item of footwear comprising a hard and/or stiff shaft consisting of heel part and a shoe cap, in addition to a sole. The invention is characterized in that an encompassing elastic connecting strip (5) is arranged between the shaft that consists of a heel part (2) and a shoe cap, and the sole.
