Abstract:
A self contained motor-powered disposable loading unit (16) for use with a robotic system configured to generate control systems there¬ for. The disposable loading unit may contain a battery (526) that is retained in a disconnected position when the disposable loading unit is not in use and is moved to a connected position when the dispos¬ able loading unit is coupled to the robotic system to permit the motor (562) to be selectively powered thereby. Indicators may be support¬ ed on the disposable loading unit to indicate when the axial drive as¬ sembly thereof is in a starting position and an ending position. Anoth¬ er indicator may be provided to indicate when the anvil assembly is in a closed position.
Abstract:
A rack (100) for use in an operating room during surgery to hold surgical instruments. The rack includes a vertical support (102) (including an adjustable height portion (HO)); rack support braces (104); rack support arms (106); a base interface member (112); casters (114); a base (116); and lighted trays. The lighted trays radiate ultraviolet and/or visible light to provide visible light in low light conditions and/or to inhibit bacterial growth. The trays are detachably attachable from the rack support arms which helps the trays to be maintained in a sterile condition, even if the rest of the rack is not maintained in a sterile condition.
Abstract:
An instrument stand for supportingly receiving surgical instruments is provided. The instrument stand includes at least one of an instrument support and a stabilization support, a first stand section and a second stand section. The second stand section is positionally coupled to the first stand section by at least one of the instrument support and the stabilization support. Also, a surgical instrument organizer assembly for supportingly receiving surgical instruments is provided, and includes an instrument stand and at least one clamp positionably coupled to the instrument stand. Further, a method of using a surgical instrument organizer assembly is provided.
Abstract:
A method is provided for matching a cranioplasty plate and template to a patient's skull in conjunction with an emergency or non-elective craniectomy surgery. A kit containing a plurality of sizes and shapes of cranioplasty plates and plate templates is provided, so that the medical professional or technician can select the plate and template which best matches the patient's skull dimensions based on imaging of the skull. The kit and selection process eliminate the need and time required for manufacture of a custom cranioplasty plate.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for handling medicament delivery devices, which device is to be used with a safety container; which medicament delivery devices comprise information retaining elements comprising information that is unique to specific medicament delivery devices, and which medicament delivery devices are to be put in a safety container after use, the device comprising an information obtaining mechanism (16, 18) operably arranged to obtain information from medicament delivery devices entered into said safety container.
Abstract:
A sterile adaptor, a sterile drape with the integrated sterile adaptor, and a telerobotic surgical system including the sterile drape are provided. The adaptor, drape, and system allow for draping portions of a telerobotic surgical system to maintain a sterile barrier between the sterile surgical field and the non-sterile robotic system while also providing an interface for transferring mechanical and electrical energy and signals between a robotic arm and a surgical instrument in the sterile field.
Abstract:
A container is constructed substantially from card or card like material for storing biologically contaminated items, such as those used in a laboratory. The card defines an opening for allowing contaminated items to be placed into the container and the opening includes foldable edges for closing the container. The container includes a temporary seal that may be reopened to allow additional items to be placed therein. The container also includes a permanent seal for sealing the container prior to decontamination. In an embodiment, the temporary seal is a metal plate (401) located over one of the foldable edges such that the plate is folded with the foldable edge to thereby retain the foldable edge in its folded configuration. Selected side portions may be provided with additional folds (721, 722, 723, 724, 725) to provide a substantially folded configuration prior to the container being placed in its open configuration. An embodiment is shown that is suitable for storing long items such as pipettes. A tall container (1702) is shown in combination with a stand (1701) so as to support the container in an upright orientation. A reinforcement member (1802) may also be included that is constructed from coated card to define a handle opening with the handle including reinforcement board.
Abstract:
A tattooing machine stand (2) comprising a base (4) arranged to hold at least one cartridge (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) which is, in use, arranged to receive a nozzle (800) of a tattooing machine (802), wherein the cartridge is removeably mounted upon the base.
Abstract:
A tongue cleaning device comprising a tongue cleaning surface supported for tongue cleaning by running the surface across the tongue, a reservoir for a tongue cleaning fluid, means to dispense the fluid either onto the tongue cleaning surface, or directly onto the user's tongue, with a cover part, the tongue cleaning surface and cover part being relatively moveable between a position in which the tongue cleaning surface is exposed for use and a position in which the tongue cleaning surface is covered by the cover part.
Abstract:
The grooved angled tray (10) for ring-handled surgical instruments includes a horizontal top (11), a horizontal base (12) that is disposed parallel to the horizontal top, a front wall (18), a rear wall (20), and a set of parallel sidewalls (16). The front wall (18) is inclined and slopes outward from the top. The horizontal top (11) and the front wall (18) are adapted to hold and isolate a variety of ring-handled instruments. The horizontal top (11) is provided with a series of grooves (22) that receive the ring handles of the ring-handled instruments. The front wall (18) has an inclined ramp (28) that allows lower portions of the ring-handled instruments to rest. In another embodiment, the horizontal top and front wall are together provided with a series of grooves that receive the ring handles and the lower portions of the ring-handled instruments.
