Abstract:
Apparatus and method for installing a multi-tooth dental prosthesis in one session are shown and described. A first tool attaches to the jawbone, and serves as a foundation for subsequently used guides. Existing teeth and dental fixtures are removed, and the bone tissue is removed to accommodate the prosthesis. Subsequently, a drill guide is used to drill implant holes. An abutment guide is then used to place abutments. Copings are then installed. Next, the prosthesis may be installed and cemented to the copings. A resinous filler material may be applied to fill gaps and holes in and between the copings and the prosthesis, and is sanded smooth. The first tool, the guides, and the prosthesis are predesigned and prefabricated based on images taken of the patient anatomy.

The invention relates to a dental implant and dental prosthesis assembly system comprising: a dental implant having a gingival end and an implantable end; a dental prosthesis; and a dental abutment formed from a composition comprising or consisting of a polymeric material. The dental abutment comprises a body having a first portion, a second portion and a passageway therebetween. A shoulder located in the passageway is adapted to receive a connector so that in use, a head of the connector abuts against a part of the shoulder, and a body of the connector passes through a bore formed by the shoulder to engage with a dental implant to secure the dental abutment to the dental implant.

An implant placement trephine may be used to drill into bone and also to bore a core of bone for purposes of forming an implant channel for implant placement. The trephine generally includes a trephine body with a cutting blade at one end and a spindle extending through the trephine body with a pilot drill at one end extending beyond the cutting blade. The spindle may be adjustably attached to the trephine body to allow the pilot drill to be adjusted relative to the trephine cutting blade. The trephine may be prepackaged with an implant, such as a dental implant, having a corresponding size. The implant placement trephine may be used for different osteotomy applications, for example, to form a channel for dental implants or orthopedic retaining stabilizers. The trephine may also facilitate harvesting bone from the core of bone removed for an autograft at the implant site.

The present invention relates to packaging and in particular, to sterile packaging that is configured to be self-stackable and interlocking. A sterile packaging comprising a packaging compartment provided having one open face through which the compartment may be filled, the open face forms a sterile sealing face that is to be sealed with and receive a sterile barrier. The package features at least one coupling interface along an external surface having male to female couplers configured to facilitate piggy-back coupling between two packaging.

Said package is made up of at least one protective element (not shown) that fully surrounds the structural body (C). Said structural body (C) is provided with two straight sections (1 ) interconnected by means of two curved sections (2), as well as a fixed structural arm (3) and a movable structural arm (4). Said fixed structural arm (3) is provided with an end (30) with gripping bars (300) while said movable structural arm (4) is provided with an end (40) with gripping bars (400). A dental protocol for creating an osteotomy for an implant is disclosed. A first drill is selected having a tip to create a pilot hole in the bone surface of a patient. The first drill includes a first boring section to create a bore hole for a second drill and a second boring section to create a coronal area on the hole near the bone surface. A first drill hole is created on the bone surface having a depth compatible with the length of the implant with the first drill and a coronal area. A second drill for creating a second hole having a width compatible with the body of the implant is selected. A second drill hole is created on the bone surface with the second drill.
