A process for manufacturing a ceramic implant with a surface which forms a permanent bonding to bone cell tissues, the surface providing improved osseointegration, the process comprising the step of: - a pretreatment of the ceramic material with the surface wherein said surface of the ceramic material is exposed to a conditioning plasma, which is produced by means of direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC), such as high or radio frequency (HF, RF), or microwaves (MW) at a low pressure, followed by a second step; - a treatment with a reactive plasma in which an organic compound is added to the plasma for the at least partial application of an organic phase to said surface wherein the organic compound is selected from the group consisting of aliphatic amines, cyclic amines, unsaturated and aromatic amines as well as combinations thereof.

A fluoride treated medical implant, such as a dental component, is provided, the medical implant comprising fluorinated metal oxide on the substrate surface. A method for the preparation of such treated implants is also provided, the method involving exposure of the medical implant to a fluorine-containing reagent. A dental structure is also provided, which includes a first dental component comprising a fluorinated metal oxide layer on its surface, a silane coupling agent, a dental cement, and a second dental component having a surface bonded to the dental cement. An additional dental structure, which includes a first dental component comprising a fluorinated metal oxide layer on its surface, a dental cement, and a second dental component having a surface bonded to the dental cement is also provided.

In one embodiment, the ceramic fillers are substantially, homogeneously dispersed within the polymer material. In one embodiment, the ceramic material is bonded to the polymer material through a coupling agent. In addition, the prosthetic dental device can be comprised of a different composite material. This composite material includes a ceramic matrix having pores and an organic material infiltrated into the pores. To construct the ceramic matrix, ceramic particles, a binder material, and a porogen material are mixed to create a composite material which is then molded and heated to create a substantially rigid ceramic structure. At least some of the binder material and the porogen material are evaporated during the heating step to create pores in the matrix which are filled with the organic material.

The invention relates to a method for producing an adhesive bond between a dental precious metal alloy or a dental non-precious metal alloy or a dental non-precious metal alloy and a dental ceramic for a dental prosthesis, in addition to the adhesive bond thus made. The invention increases adherence between the respective dental metal alloy and the dental ceramic. Added oxide forming non-precious metals are not required. To achieve this, silicon ions are implanted between metal ions with ion beams in the surface of a body made of a precious or non-precious metal provided for ceramic inlaying. The silicon ions enable a layer to be formed in the surface of the body in the penetration layer of the ionic implant consisting of implanted silicon ions and metal ions pertaining to said body. The dental ceramic inlay is fired on said layer.
