The window surface defines a window extending from the outer hub surface to the inner hub surface. The latch member includes at least one blade. The latch member is configured to be actuated between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the at least one blade is not positioned within the window of the hub member. In the second position, the at least one blade is positioned at least partially within the window of the hub member.

An apparatus is provided for connecting and disconnecting a tubular fitting connector to a fluid conduit. A cradle assembly accommodates the fluid conduit, and includes a body having a first port and a second port. The first and second ports are disposed at opposite ends of the body, and each port is configured for receiving an end cap of the tubular fitting to fasten or unfasten the end cap for replacement. A connector holder is disposed between the first and second ports, and is configured for accommodating insertion of the connector. A holder assembly is provided for accommodating insertion of the tubular fitting. A means is provided for operating the cradle assembly and the holder assembly. The cradle assembly is reciprocable relative to the holder assembly for transitioning the cradle assembly between a first position, a second position, and a third position.

A medical tubing connector includes a first connector portion configured for connecting to a mating second connector. A tube engagement portion is integral with and opposite the first connector portion and configured for connecting to a medical tube. A liquid passage extends through the first connector portion and the tube engagement portion. The first connector portion includes a continuous outer surface for sealing engagement with the mating second connector. An annular portion is integral with and surrounds the male connector portion. A connecting portion connects the first connector portion to the annular portion. The connecting portion is discontinuous permitting liquid to pass through the connecting portion so that liquid is prevented from pooling between the first connector portion and the annular portion.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erhöhung der Dichtigkeit eines mechanischen Konnektors einer extrakorporalen Blutbehandlungsmaschine, wobei der mechanische Konnektor ein Paar an Verbindungsteilen aufweist, die korrespondierende Dichtflächen aufweisen, wobei vor dem Zusammenführen der Verbindungsteile wenigstens eine der beiden Dichtflächen zumindest abschnittsweise mit einer viskosen Flüssigkeit benetzt wird, und/oder wobei der Verbindungsspalt zwischen den Verbindungsteilen nach deren Zusammenführen mit einer Hülle abgedeckt wird. A cap for medical fluid lines and the like, characterized in that it comprises a hollow body (1) within which a male or female connector (2; 3) accessible at one end of the body (1) is coaxially housed, and is configured so as to inviolably obstruct the passage through said body (1). A unidirectional coupling (12, 13) is provided to lock in rotation the connector (2; 3) with respect to the body (1) in the direction (F) corresponding to the screwing of the connector (2; 3) and a complementary connector to be coupled therewith, and to enable free rotation of the connector (2; 3) in the opposite direction. The connector (2; 3) can be possibly locked in rotation with respect to the body (1) in the unscrewing direction, only following a positive command.

A fluid transfer system includes packaging having a body with a sidewall extending between an open top end and a bottom end and defining an interior cavity, and at least one protrusion extending radially inward from the sidewall into the interior cavity. The system also includes a fluid transfer device including an inner member and an outer member surrounding at least a portion of the inner member. The inner member having a first position where the inner member is configured to rotate freely relative to the outer member and a second position where rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member is restricted in a first rotational direction. The fluid transfer device also including a locking arrangement configured for cooperating with the at least one protrusion to prevent rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member upon an application of a compressive force on the packaging.

Es ist vorgesehen, dass das Sicherungselement (4) von einer entsicherten Stellung in eine gesicherte Stellung überführt werden kann, wobei das Sicherungselement (4) in der gesicherten Stellung derart auf das Dichtelement (3) einwirkt, dass ein innerer Durchmesser (d) des Dichtelements (3) kleiner ist, als wenn sich das Sicherungselement (4) in der entsicherten Stellung befindet, so dass eine fluiddichte Verbindung zwischen dem Innenbereich des ersten Verbindungsteils (2) und einem Innenbereich eines zweiten Verbindungsteils (13) resultiert, wenn das zweite Verbindungsteil (13) in dem Innenbereich des ersten Verbindungsteils (2) aufgenommen ist.
