摘要:
The invention provides a system, including an apparatus and method for neural regeneration in damaged neural cells or neural tissue. The system encourages axonal growth and neural cell migration to the injury site by applying unidirectional electric stimulation at the site of neural tissue damage to promote cellular migration through the damaged site, facilitated by an implanted neural conduit that covers neural tissue areas and/or bridges any gaps between damaged neural tissue segments.

摘要:
A rehabilitation apparatus for an upper limb of a patient is described, the apparatus comprising an electrostimulator element and a sensor element, both wearable by the patient. The electrostimulator element comprises a brace, configured to be positioned on the limb of the patient, and an electronic module comprising connectors for electrodes suitable for providing electrical stimulation to the patient's limb. The sensor element comprises a flex sensor configured to measure a movement of at least one portion of another upper limb of the patient. The electronic module is configured to connect wirelessly to the sensor element to receive from it a signal generated by the flex sensor depending on the movement of the at least one portion of the other limb of the patient and, on the basis of this signal, activate the one or more electrodes to provide electrical stimulation to the patient's limb.

The inventive subject matter provides a wearable device for application of methods for balancing and maintaining the health of the human autonomic nervous system, including a wearable frame; cranio-electrical stimulation (CES) circuitry and electrodes positioned on the wearable frame; and optionally including audio entrainment with binaural beats circuitry and audio outputs, and an attachable visual mask containing light-blocking material and frequency-following response visual stimulation circuitry and lights. The device may also include sensors to monitor various physiologic indicators. The system communicates the physiologic data with other devices (such as smart phones or tablets) that have algorithms to interpret the data to determine whether additional therapy is required. Based on this feedback, the smart phone communicates with the therapy elements, e.g., CES, to continue or discontinue therapy.

The present invention provides systems and methods for enhanced treatment of depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders. The present invention personalizes neuromodulation treatment parameters based on their acute neurophysiological and behavioral effects in an individual patient to enhance clinical response to a course of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) treatment and hasten time to recovery. The present invention assesses a range of stimulation parameters for their ability to produce specific acute effects on neurophysiologic function (specific pattern of change in resting-state EEG; current source density), and/or specific acute effects on the performance of specific cognitive tasks (increased reward sensitivity; diminished risk aversion; restored response bias deficiency) in an individual patient.
