A multi-level play structure is provided for entertaining play participants. The play structure comprises multiple play levels at various elevations, including an upper play level (180), a lower play level (182), and one or more intermediate play levels (184, 185, 186, 187, 188, 189, 190). Multiple gravity induced rides (214, 215, 216, 217) and climbing structures (200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205) connect two or more of the play levels. At least one of the intermediate play levels is connected to two or more other play levels by at least one gravity induced ride and at least one climbing structure, thereby allowing play participants to choose between two or more different paths to other play levels upon reaching the intermediate play level.

An interactive play system (100) and method of interactive play is provided in which a plurality of interactive play elements (134, 250, 280) are provided for creating various desired effects utilizing soft foam balls (104) or other suitable play media. The interactive play system (100) comprises a multi-level support structure (102) on which the interactive play elements are disposed. These allow play participants (105) to create desired play effects using a fun and familiar play medium. Some of the play elements may be multi-order play elements in that they receive play media from a first effect to create yet another effect. Various play-participant-operated conveyers (140, 170, 172) are provided throughout the structure (100) for transporting play media from a source to the various interactive play elements.

The play apparatus comprises a framework structure including interconnected rail members and a plurality of joint assemblies each arranged to interconnect at least a pair of the rail members to construct the framework structure. Each of the joint assemblies includes a structural hub configured for detachable connection to an end of one of the rail members and a joint housing mounted about the structural hub and including one or more bracket anchorages for securement of one or more panel brackets to which a panel of the play apparatus is removably mounted.

A platform assembly including a launch platform, a landing platform and a safety pit positioned therebetween is disposed generally within the lower frame assembly.
