Method of production of springs made of wire of circular or other type crosssectional area, that are produced after having formed first springs (6) of constant diameter smaller or equal to that of the final spring (7) and of constant pitch smaller or equal to the smallest pitch of the final spring (7), where by compressing in a controlled fashion the spring turn of the initial spring (6) from the interior direction towards the outer one and from the lower side towards the spiral direction the selected pitch and the diameter of the final spring (7) are formed. The invention also relates to a system that is comprised of a main roller (1) with motion rollers (2), (3), (4) that are contacting it peripherally and a pin (5) in an elbow (12) that is connected to an axle (10) situated upon a base (11) that is capable of moving along its longitudinal axis and to revolve around it, transmitting through the elbow (12) the motion to the pin (5) so as to form the diameter and the pitch of the final spring (7).

An apparatus and method for manufacturing a barrel coil spring make it possible to coil opposite sides of a spring material at the same time so as to considerably reduce manufacturing processing, thereby remarkably reducing the time required to manufacture the coil barrel spring, thus improving productivity.

An auger useable for creating an opening in the ground for a soil sensor housing wherein the sensor housing has a predetermined volume and a tapered outer surface, includes an auger made in accordance with the methods described and defined in this specification. The auger having a shaft having an outer surface of circular cross-section having an larger outer diameter at one end than the other end and a strip material having a helical shape with an inner wall having a larger inner diameter at one end than the other end of the helical shape wherein the helically shaped material is fixed over the outer diameter of the shaft to form a tapered auger with helical flighting. The volume of the opening created by an auger in the ground will provide a matching volume for a sensor housing of a predetermined volume such that substantially the full length of the tapered outer surface of the sensor is adjacent the ground along the full length/depth of the created opening.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a spiral spring. The inventive method includes a step of successively feeding a linear material, an end portion thereof being partially bent; a step of full bending the partially bent end portion of the linear material; a step of coiling the linear material being fed in succession by forcibly contacting the lineal material thereby forming uniform pitches of the linear material; and a step of forming a hook of the coiled lineal spring and cutting the coiled linear spring at the same time. In the following step of the cutting, the half bending of the end portion of the linear material, which is successively being fed, is performed. The spiral springs made using the method and the apparatus can have a uniform characteristic and the manufacturing time can be shortened.

El muelle está previsto para constituir un medio de amortiguación direccionable, presentando la particularidad de que sus espiras (2) tienen una especial configuración que hace que cuando se comprima el muelle, dichas espiras (2) y la propia espira superior (3) en la que incide la fuerza de empuje, además de sufrir un desplazamiento vertical, sufren igualmente un desplazamiento transversal hacia un lado, dependiendo de la orientación de las espiras (2), lo que da lugar a que se produzca una amortiguación direccionable de la fuerza ejercida en el cuerpo en el que estén aplicados los muelles (1), como puede ser un colchón (5), un asiento, almohada, cojín, etc. Dicho muelle (1) se obtiene en base a un procedimiento que consiste en posicionar un muelle de espiras convencionales en "S", y sujetarlo a través de sus dos espiras extremas, para realizar unos empujes laterales sobre las espiras intermedias, para conseguir una deformación de dichas espiras, que en combinación con un desplazamiento de las espiras, se consigue que éstas pasen de la configuración en "S" convencional a una configuración aproximadamente en "Z", efectuando el tratamiento térmico del conjunto del muelle para conseguir la definitiva transformación de éste.

The invention relates to spring manufacturing method comprise of the process steps of: - locating the wire (T) through passing it through the disks (20, 30), - change of direction upon hitting the roller (10) by the wire (T), - obtaining the spring by means of winding in the preferred direction (a, b) to manufacture telescopic, uninterrupted and uniform spring so as to ensure elasticity by means of locating it between two platforms and then release thereof where the spring (Y) manufacture steps comprise of, - manufacture of inner/outer spring (Y1, Y2) by means of direction change of Roller A (10) with hep of winding upon rotation of the wire (T) in opposite direction by use of the same wire and uninterruptedly upon obtaining the said spring (Y).
