Machine for machining a crankshaft, working as a pin turning machine, with two machining units, each of them being provided with a clamping device. In order to clamp evenly workpieces having an unstable balance, such as crankshafts, having a small distance between the central bearing and the lifting bearing, in an optimal way despite the space available, while collecting the chips produced and removing them in a perfect manner, both clamping devices support in tension the crankshaft (23) when machining the two lifting bearing (24) at the same level as the central bearing (19).

The invention concerns a covering for the bed of a machine tool, the covering comprising telescoping boxes, each of which has a first and a second wall and a roof joined to the walls. Mounted on at least one wall is an outwards-projecting entrainment lug designed to engage with an appropriately shaped device on the next-larger box. The entrainment lug is formed on a profile mounted on one of the walls. Fitted to the entrainment lug is a damping element which damps the impact between the entrainment lug and the device with which it engages. Also fitted to the profile is a stop which can be brought in contact with the profile or rear wall of the next-larger box. The stop acts to damp the impact between two boxes.

Eine Werkzeugmaschine (1), insbesondere Laserbearbeitungsmaschine, mit einem entlang einer Führungsschiene (11) verfahrbaren Werkstück- oder Werkzeugschlitten (12), der mindestens zwei auf der Führungsschiene (11) geführte Führungswagen (13a, 13b) aufweist, und mit einer mit dem Schlitten (12) mitverfahrenden Abdeckhaube (14) zum Abdecken des zwischen den beiden Führungswagen (13a, 13b) befindlichen Schienenabschnitts der Führungsschiene (11) ist erfindungsgemäß die Abdeckhaube (14) ein nicht mit dem Schlitten (12) verbundenes Teil, das zwischen den beiden Führungswagen (13a, 13b) auf der Führungsschiene (11) verschiebbar geführt ist und bei einer Verschiebung des Schlittens (12) jeweils von dem in Verschieberichtung hinteren Führungswagen in Verschieberichtung mitgenommen wird.

A way cover section (12, 14, 16) is shaped with a continuous lateral arc by pre-stressing so that it's top panel (18, 20, 22) has a radius in it's top panel from one side panel (12A, 14A, 16A) of the cover section (12, 14, 16) to the other (12B, 145B, 16B). A wiper (40) at the leading edge (38) of the cover sections (12, 14, 16) that may also serve as a bumper. The wiper (40) has an elastomeric wiper (48) section at one end and an elastomeric bumper (46) section at the other end, with an intermediate section (44) of a harder and more lubricious material that fits on a rolled over edge (38) of the cover section (14, 16) to which the wiper (40) is attached.

A telescopic covering, in particular for machine-tools, is composed of a plurality of telescopically movable covering elements. Production and assembly are simplified and the covering elements have high rigidity and stability even with relatively thin walls, provided that at least some covering elements have at least one rib-like material deformation with a U-shaped cross-section.
