Abstract:
A process consisting of the treatment of moulds for the production of plastic materials (injection, compression, rotational moulding, etc) characterised by the fact that such process envisages the application in the mould of an alcohol-based solution containing an active agent from the silane family capable of lending the metal surface a property consisting in the non-adhesion to molten polymer, forming an ultra-thin, extremely resistant and long-lasting layer. The invention also relates to the mould for the production of plastic materials to which the treatment claimed herein is applied.
Abstract:
A wind turbine blade comprising a load carrying structure including at least a first spar cap and an aerodynamic shell having an outer surface forming at least part of an exterior surface of the wind turbine blade and an inner surface is described. The load carrying structure is connected to the aerodynamic shell. The aerodynamic shell comprises a first recess at the inner surface of the blade shell with a first thickened part at a first side of the first recess and a second thickened part at a second side of the first recess. The first recess is tapered towards the first side of the recess and tapered towards the second side of the recess, and the first spar cap is arranged in the first recess of the aerodynamic shell. The first spar cap is tapered towards a first side of the spar cap and further is tapered towards a second side of the spar cap so that the first side of the spar cap substantially abuts or adjoins the first side of the recess, and the second side of the spar cap substantially abuts or adjoins the second side of the recess.
Abstract:
A method of reducing the friction between the wall(s) of a mold and the outer wall(s) of a metal container fitting snugly in the mold and containing a metal ammine complex salt which is uniaxially compacted within the container, comprises a) treating or covering the inner wall(s) of the container with a lubricant before the metal ammine salt is filled into the container, or b) mixing a solid lubricant with the metal ammine salt to be filled into the container is, or c) treating or covering a gas-permeable enclosure made of a flexible material and wrapped around the solid metal ammine salt with a lubricant before the solid metal ammine salt wrapped into the envelope is filled into the container, or a combination of a) and b) or a) and c). A lubricated container and a lubricated enclosure each containing a metal ammine salt is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A casted concrete stone having opposed parallel surfaces formed in a mold and wherein the opposed parallel surfaces have a molded textured surface. The concrete stone is fabricated by a dry-cast concrete mold wherein a profiling plate is provided with mold bottom wall formations each having a textured outer surface. A bond release film or spray or permanent coating is provided on the textured outer surface of the mold bottom wall formations. Mold forming side walls are disposed about the mold bottom wall formations. After the mold is filled with a dry-cast concrete mixture a top plate, having mold top wall formations, is disposed over the mold forming side walls with the mold top wall formations disposed inside respective ones of the molds to close the molds. Pressure and vibration is applied to compact the dry- cast concrete whereby to form a dry-cast concrete stone with opposed molded textured surfaces.
Abstract:
Method and a fluid composition for producing contact lenses with improved lens quality and with increased product yield. The method of the invention involves adding a phospholipid into a fluid composition including a lens-forming material in an amount sufficient to reduce an averaged mold separation force by at least about 40% in comparison with that without the phospholipids.
