Abstract:
A method is described for manufacturing a latex mattress or the like to obtain a mattress with a honeycomb cell structure: in particular, the latex is concentrated at a high density in limited areas along the paths between the cells, so that a smaller quantity of latex is used than in the known latex mattresses for the same load- bearing qualities and elasticity.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention provides an article, a method and an apparatus of forming expanded plastic materials in a steam chest mold having out of die draw features. This is achieved by means of a cavity pull system. The cavity pull system allows for the provision of molded features outside the die draw and is designed to operate on a cam type system using two stainless steel rods running at a right angle to one another. A gear mechanism allows molded features, e.g. holes, to be formed at any angle on any part design where enough part geometry exists to accommodate the forming features and in the tool for mechanism components. The invention is advantageously employed in the formation of holes outside the die draw in vertically stacked injection tools for energy absorbers used in vehicle bumper fascias. The provision of out of die draw molded features is useful for fascia component locating or attachment.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an insulating molded part, comprising an upper part (7) and a lower part (8), wherein according to the invention, the upper part (7) and the lower part (8) are designed as a one-piece injection-molded or die-cast part, which has cavities in the interior thereof, the cavities being designed as chambers (3) that are separated in an airtight manner from each other. In a corresponding method for producing such an insulating molded part, in a first method step within the context of an injection-molding or die-casting process, the composite material of the upper part (7) is introduced into a first mold together with additives made of natural materials or recycled material, and in a second method step within the context of a fusible-core process, the composite material of the lower part (7) is introduced into a second mold together with additives made of natural materials or recycled material, wherein the second mold contains a fusible core having individual fusible bodies, which are connected to the outside by means of openings (1) in the second mold, and after the second method step, the fusible bodies are melted out to form individual chambers (3).
Abstract:
There is provided a method of manufacturing a hollow structural member suitable for precisely manufacturing a hollow structural member whose pitch space of the hollows is below 30 Êm. The method of manufacturing a hollow structural member of this invention is to encapsulate, by using a gas-permeable material in part of a material that constitutes the substrate (5) for manufacturing the hollow structural member, a high-pressure gas by injection in advance, under high-pressure conditions, into the gas-permeable material; to form a plastic deformation film (10) on a surface under reduced-pressure conditions; and to expand and draw the plastic deformation film (10), while preventing the plastic deformation material from entering the recesses (5b), by discharging the high-pressure gas that is encapsulated in the gas-permeable material into each of the recesses (5b), whereby the hollow structural member is manufactured.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a manufacturing method with two moulding phases used to mould a shoe sole composed of an external shell (3) made of rubber or other thermoplastic materials designated to exactly house a filing insert (IR) made of expanded materials. The invention also concerns a shoe sole with such a composite structure.
Abstract:
The present invention' provides extrusion-processable materials having a plurality of capillary channels therethrough, and apparatus and methods for manufacturing such materials. The capillaries may be occupied by gases, liquids or other phases. The materials may be anisotropic foams which have high voidage. The methods and apparatus include quench cooling (11) of an extrudate (2) as it exits a die (14).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a steering-wheel (1) with a seamless cover encompassing the steering-wheel rim, steering-wheel spokes (2) and the central area with tear lines for an airbag-covering (4). Said cover comprises a plastic shaped part (3) produced as a single piece by a casting or injection process, with a closed surface and optionally a foamed base element. The inventive method is characterised in that a core (5) consisting of a material with a low melting point is attached to the central base part of the steering-wheel skeleton. The steering-wheel skeleton and the core (5) are then placed in a mould to produce the plastic shaped part (3). The plastic shaped part (3) is formed. After said plastic shaped part (3) has hardened, the core (5) is melted by increasing the temperature and the material is removed from the plastic shaped part (3) in liquid form.
