The driving cam member moves between a first position, in which the first mold surface of the first arm and the second mold surface of the second arm form a continuous mold surface, and a second position, in which the first arm and the second arm are separated to enable removal of a molded element having an undercut mold surface contour.

A mold used to form a midsole for an article of footwear and a method of manufacturing are disclosed. The mold includes a first portion and a second portion cooperating to define a midsole recess, the first portion including a major recess and plurality of wall segments extending throughout the major recess and cooperating to define a plurality of minor recesses. A fillet is provided at each intersection of adjacent wall segments. The mold may have a draft angle of less than or equal to approximately 2.5 degrees.

The footwear pieces include a pivoting strap (122) that can be moved into contact with and fixed in relation to the sole of the footwear piece, or moved into contact with and fixed in relation to the upper of the footwear piece. The footwear includes one or more ventilators (181, 182) formed in the footwear piece that are surrounded by liquid conductors capable of channeling liquid spilled on the surface of the footwear pieces away from a foot within the footwear pieces.

A method for providing parts of waterproof and breathable shoes (20), parts of waterproof and breathable shoes (20) provided with the method, and waterproof and breathable soles (31) provided with the shoe parts (20). The method uses a mold (10a) of the type comprising a first element (11a) and a second element (12a), at least one of which has hollow regions (13a) of a matrix of impressions (14a), which are filled with polymeric material in the fluid state by depositing it in the hollow regions (13a) or by injecting it while the mold (10a) is closed. A support (17) made of flexible sheet is interposed between the first element (11a) and the second element (12a) and comprises a waterproof and breathable functional element (26), on which, when the mold (10a) is closed, the polymeric material sets and adheres to the support (17).

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Fußbettes für einen Schuh mit einem Zugkräfte aufnehmenden, durchbrochenen Flächengebilde (5) beschrieben, das in einem den Randverlauf des Fußbettes bestimmenden Tragrahmen (4) mit Hilfe eines Abdeckrahmens (9) frei aufgespannt gehalten wird. Um eine vorteilhafte Verbindung zwischen dem Flächengebilde (5) und dem Tragrahmen (4) zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, dass der Abdeckrahmen (9) bei seiner Herstellung aus einer Kunststoffschmelze durch das durchbrochene Flächengebilde (5) hindurch am Tragrahmen stoffschlüssig angeformt wird.

A method of manufacturing footwear (10) includes providing a modular forepart (71) and a modular rearpart (72), overlapping these parts along an overlap margin a preselected distance, and permanently joining the parts to selectively manufacture footwear of at least two different sizes, for example, a full size or a half size or some other partial size. The forepart and rearpart can be injection molded from one or more polymeric materials in a mold. The polymeric materials can be bonded to a sheet of material which can be at least partially retained in a three-dimensional, contoured shape by the polymeric material. The molded polymeric material can form a supportive and/or structural exoskeleton (50) in an upper portion of the footwear. The exoskeleton can define one or more holes through which the sheet is visible to form one or more aesthetic regions on the upper. An article of footwear constructed with the method is also provided.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Schuhs (1), insbesondere eines Sportschuhs, mit einem Schuhoberteil (2) und einer am Schuhoberteil (2) angeordneten Zwischensohle (3). Um eine verbesserte Ergonomie des Schuhs ohne Störung dessen Erscheinungsbildes zu ermöglichen, sieht das Verfahren die Schritte vor: a) Herstellen des Schuhoberteils (2) des Schuhs (1), wobei an der Unterseite des Schuhoberteils (2) eine Aufnahmetasche (4) angeordnet wird, die einen zumindest weitgehend geschlossenen Aufnahmeraum (5) für das Material der Zwischensohle (3) bildet; b) Platzieren des Schuhoberteils (2) samt Aufnahmetasche (4) in einem Gießwerkzeug (6, 7, 8); c) Eingießen oder Einspritzen von fließfähigem Kunststoffmaterial in den Aufnahmeraum (5) der Aufnahmetasche (4), um die Zwischensohle (3) auszubilden; d) Aushärtenlassen des eingegossenen oder eingespritzten Kunststoffmaterials; e) Entformen des Schuhoberteils samt Aufnahmetasche (4) und gegossener oder gespritzter Zwischensohle (3) aus dem Gießwerkzeug (6, 7, 8).
