A dispersion coating or a coating cured by UV radiation is then applied onto the respective side of the substrates, the dispersion coating or the coating cured by UV radiation being dried and the substrates being fed to a mechanical processing device for carrying out a further mechanical processing of the substrates. According to the invention, the further mechanical processing is performed by punching and/or inserting grooves and/or separating parts and/or by breaking out panels from their respective composite in the respective substrate.

A printing press racking board and corner angle support, both preferably formed via injection molding processes. The racking board is a generally flat member having stiffening ribs and stiffening rod inserts attached to the bottom surface so that the board can exhibit the required stiffness. Hand holds and finger holes are included to facilitate moving the racking board. The corner angle support has two members extending perpendicularly from each other. Each member has flanges which can support a racking board, and each member also includes stiffening ribs to increase stiffness. The racking board and supports are both lighter than the prior art, and yet both exhibit the required stiffness. Also, racking board and supports are less likely to splinter and fracture, and thus exhibit a longer user life.

A computer controlled power saving automatic zoned dryer for a printing press has a dryer head (36) facing the substrate travel path (P), having a multiplicity of IR lamps (60) connected individually or in groups to form a plurality of heating zones running longitudinally and each extending laterally side by side across the substrate travel path (P). The radiant heat output of each heating zone is controlled separately by means of a control unit (154) connected to a power supply. The control unit (154) individually regulates output of the heating zones. Unneeded zones are turned off to reduce cost of power and conserve energy. A plurality of heat sensors (35) spaced laterally across the substrate path (P) measure the surface temperature of substrate heated areas corresponding to the heating zones being operated and maintain an automatic set point temperature. The temperature of each individual heated area can be regulated automatically by adjusting the output of its heating zone whereby printed substrates (S) having a more even temperature profile are delivered. In an alternate manual mode any zone can be set independently to operate at any percentage of full available power from zero to 100%. Separate high velocity air scrubbers and additional air extraction (40) are used to enhance the total drying effect of the zoned dryer assembly.

Gelöst wird das dadurch, indem in einem durch das Folientransferwerk gebildeten Applikationswerk (B) eine Lackschicht auf einem Substrat an der Oberfläche verformende Einrichtung mit einem Pressspalt (10) angeordnet ist, in dem eine Strukturschicht auf das mit der Lackschicht beschichtete Substrat gepresst wird. Die Pressung findet nur am Gegendruckzylinder (2) und dem weiteren Zylinder (1, 30) statt. Im Anschluss an den Pressspalt (10) wird die Strukturschicht und das mit der Lackschicht beschichtete Substrat während einer trocknenden Bestrahlung synchron auf dem Gegendruckzylinder (2) transportierbar sind. Dann wird die Strukturfläche von dem Substrat in einem Auslaufspalt (11) getrennt und abgeführt.

The present invention relates to a method for drying a sheet shaped product that is equipped with print, said product being transported past a number of nozzle tubes (17), and that said sheet shaped product in connection therewith is brought to be fixed relative to a transporting means (7), drying air being ejected through said nozzle tubes (17) towards the sheet shaped product. The invention also relates to a device for drying a sheet shaped product. It is significant for the method according to the present invention that the nozzle tubes are arranged at a certain mutual distance from each other, and that the drying air is evacuated by an evenly distributed negative pressure that is generated in the area above the nozzle tubes (17).

The IR battery (3) is disposed for cooling with the aid of a closed cooling air system, in which a supply air fan (7) blows air into one end (8) of the battery, the air being exhausted from the other end (9) of the battery by an exhaust fan (10).

In einer Bogendruckmaschine werden mehrfarbige Druckbilder beidseitig auf Druckbogen erzeugt und getrocknet. Die Druckbilder werden mit Spezialdruckfarben gedruckt und nicht beschichtet. Zur vollständigen Aushärtung werden die Druckbilder nach dem jeweils letzten Farbauftrag auf jeder Seite des Druckbogens einer härtenden Strahlungsbehandlung unterzogen, wobei die Prozessstrecken (15 – 18) zwischen den Druckwerken (5, 5W) und dem jeweiligen Trockner (13, 14) gleich lang sind. Auf diese Weise können beidseitig glänzende, durchgetrocknete und scheuerfeste Farbdrucke auf Druckbogen erzeugt werden, ohne dass eine längere Wartezeit zum Aushärten der Druckfarben notwendig wäre.
