Abstract:
A writing utensil which has a pen point composed of a fiber core or a plastic core coated with a coating agent containing a material imparting cap-off property thereto, wherein the writing utensil uses an ink containing a fluorine-containing surfactant and/or a silicone based surfactant and/or wherein the coating agent comprises a material having a polar functional group which is solid at an ordinary temperature and has a solubility into the ink solvent used of 5 % or less at an ordinary temperature. The writing utensil is excellent in cap-off characteristics.
Abstract:
A pen (1) suitable for writing and/or typing on screens and/or keyboards of electronic equipment such as computers, personal organizers, palmtops, telephones is described, said pen comprising an elongated stem (2) provided at at least one end (2e) with a coaxial cavity (3) able to house and retain inside it a rounded tip (4). In the pen (1) in question this tip (4) is made of a material chosen from a group comprising synthetic or natural hard stones and ceramic materials.
Abstract:
A pen point capable of withstanding a high pen pressure, having a copying capability equivalent to that of a ball-point pen, capable of preventing a pen core from being recessed or eliminating the possibility that the bending strength of the pen core becomes insufficient, capable of accurately setting the centering dimension of the pen core at all times, and capable of increasing a productivity, comprising a plastic pen core (2) having an ink capillary passage in axial direction and having a diameter of 1.5 mm or less and a metal holder (3), wherein the plastic pen core (2) forms a small diameter drum part (2d) from a writing part (2b) through a shoulder part with height difference (2c), a length (L) between the shoulder part with height difference (2c) and the tip of the writing part (2b) in axial direction is set to 0.5 ≤ L / D ≤ 1.2, where (D) is a core diameter, the metal holder (3) forms a contact ring part (3c) at a tip part (3b) having a fitting hole (3a) open thereto, and a drum part (2d) is inserted into the fitting hole (3a) in a combined state that the shoulder part with height difference (2c) comes in contact with a contact ring part (3c).
Abstract:
An electronic smart pen is disclosed that comprises a housing with a twist ring and a marker that is configured to be in an exposed state or in a retracted state. In the exposed state a tip of the marker is exposed from the housing, while the retracted state has the tip being enclosed by the housing. The smart pen also comprises an internal power switch that toggles the electronics of the smart pen between an on-state and an off-state. Rotating the twist ring provides a combined mechanism to move the marker from the retracted state to the exposed state, while also toggling the power switch from the off-state to the on-state so that the marker is automatically extended when the pen is turned on.
Abstract:
A combination writing pen and stylus is disclosed. The device has an internal ink cartridge deployable through a hole in the stylus tip. The stylus tip extends from a sleeve that is formed of a conductive elastomeric material. The sleeve extends up a rigid shaft of the device such that it contacts a sufficient ground. The stylus tip may be coated with a protective material that adjusts the coefficient of friction and prevents carbon deposits on the touch screen. A sufficient contact patch is achieved to simulate a human finger so as to overcome false positives from common touch screen logic. This is done by altering tip geometries around an air cavity within the sleeve.
Abstract:
A marking instrument includes a body formed with a first end and a second end and sealed at the second end to define a fluid reservoir. The marking instrument includes a tip assembly positioned at the first end having a rigid nib with a fluid path formed longitudinally therethrough. The rigid nib has a first end forming a first spreader surface and a second end adjacent to the fluid reservoir and cooperates with a shiftable valve positioned within the fluid path. The shiftable valve includes a valve actuator having a contact surface position substantially adjacent to the first spreader surface. The tip assembly may further include an adjustable nib having a second spreader surface adapted to be positioned adjacent the first spreader surface to form a composite spreader surface.
Abstract:
A writing utensil having a utensil body (10) and, placed therein, an exchangeable refill filled with an ink containing a solvent having a vapor pressure of 1 to 50 mm Hg (20 DEG ), characterized in that the refill has a pen point comprising a fiber core or a plastic core and the pen point is coated with a material capable of suppressing the vaporization of the solvent in an amount of 0.01 to 20 wt % relative to the pen point. It is preferred that the above material is also contained in the ink. The above materials include glycerol derivatives, polyoxyethylene sorbit fatty acid ester, an alkyl phosphate ester, waxes and lecithin.
