Abstract:
A windscreen wiper device for cleaning a windshield of a vehicle is provided. The windscreen wiper device includes a wiper strip extending in a longitudinal direction between opposite wiper strip ends, and the wiper strip is of a flexible material such as rubber for sealing against the windshield. At least one carrier element is disposed in the grooves and extends in a longitudinal direction between opposite carrier element ends. The windscreen wiper device further includes a frame structure including a plurality of claws in sliding engagement with the carrier element or elements and wherein the frame structure extends longitudinally past the ends of the wiper strip and the carrier element or elements. The frame structure includes a pair of flange portions that restrict the movement of the carrier element and the wiper strip relative to the frame structure.
Abstract:
A windscreen wiper device for cleaning a windshield of a vehicle is provided. The windscreen wiper device includes a wiper strip for sealing against the windshield and at least one carrier element engaged with the wiper strip to bias the wiper strip into a predetermined configuration. A frame structure is coupled to the at least one carrier element and includes at least two components. One of the components presents an elongated member with a resilient tab, and another component includes a longitudinally extending opening. One of the walls of the opening has a recess shaped similarly to the resilient tab. The elongated member is inserted into the opening until the resilient tab snaps into the opening to interconnect the components.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for mounting a windshield wiper on a vehicle body. Said mounting device comprises an elongated support with a pre-assembled wiper motor, a transmission, a driving crank and a transmission rod assembly that is linked with said driving crank and with at least the drive shaft for a wiper arm by means of a pivoted lever. The support structure is linked with the vehicle body in three mounting points. It is the aim of the invention to design a mounting device that requires only little assembly space for mounting the equipped support structure on the vehicle body and that facilitates the assembly. To this end, two of the mounting points (P1 and P2) that are used to establish a firm connection with the vehicle body are located along the longitudinal axis of the support structure (1) and are spaced apart from one another. The third mounting point (P3) is located at a distance from the connecting line between said mounting points (P1, P2) and is configured as a connector element (10) of a vibration-free and noise-reduced connector for a counter piece (11) to be firmly mounted on the vehicle body. The direction of connection is substantially transversal to the rotational axis of the drive crank (6) that drives the drive rod assembly (7).
Abstract:
A hatch assembly for a vehicle wherein the components to be installed within the tailgate or the hatch are interconnected. The components can include one or more of a wiper drive motor, a cargo light, a center high mounted stop light, a fluid sprayer, a latch, a wiper light and the vehicle hatch. The assembly can include corresponding shaped features on respective components so that the components can be interconnected without the use of additional fasteners. Electrical connections are also made between the components of the assembly. The electrical connections are embedded within the walls of the components, the cover, and/or the shaped features that provide the mechanical connections between the enclosures.
Abstract:
A method of making a windscreen wiper device is provided. The method includes the step of preparing a wiper strip and at least one carrier element in engagement with the wiper strip. The at least one carrier element extends in a longitudinal direction between opposite ends to bias the wiper strip into a predetermined configuration. The method proceeds with sliding a first component of a frame structure onto one of the ends of the at least one earner element and sliding a second component of the frame structure onto one of the ends of the carrier element. The method continues with the step of coupling the first and second components of the frame structure with one another only after the first and second components are both slid into engagement with the at least one carrier element.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for programming a wiper system (10; 10a) for vehicle windscreens, in which for operating respectively a windscreen wiper (14, 15) a wiper module (12, 13) on the drivers side is programmed as master 5 module (36) and a wiper module (12, 13) on the passengers side is programmed as slave module (37), wherein the wiper modules (12, 13) consist of a reversing motor (18), if applicable a gear (19), a holder (22, 23) for fastening to the body of a vehicle, and a control (20), wherein in the control (20) at least data for a program sequence (38), vehicle-specific characteristic data 10 (39) and data for the operation of the wiper module (12, 13) as master module (36) or respectively as slave module (37) are stored, wherein at least the wiper module (12, 13) on the drivers side is connected via an on-board wiring system interface (30) and a first data communication line (32) with a vehicle control unit (28). According to the invention, provision is made that before the activation of 15 the wiper module (12, 13) on the drivers side via the first data communication line (32) in its control (20) the wiper module (12, 13) is defined or respectively pre-programmed neither as master module (36) nor as slave module (37).
