Abstract:
Ein Aspekt der Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verändern einer im Schubbetrieb wirksamen Schubrekuperation eines Kraftfahrzeugs mit zumindest einer zur Rekuperation einsetzbaren elektrischen Maschine. Das Fahrzeug umfasst ein seitens des Fahrers betätigbares Bremspedal zum Verzögerung des Fahrzeugs. Gemäß dem Verfahren wird eine Betätigung des Bremspedals während einer Bergabfahrt festgestellt. Das Verfahren geht zunächst von einem Betrieb des Fahrzeugs in einem Rekuperationsmodus mit einer im Vergleich zum späteren Umschalten niedrigeren Rekuperation aus. In Reaktion auf das Feststellen einer Betätigung des Bremspedals während der Bergabfahrt erfolgt ein Umschalten in einen Rekuperationsmodus mit erhöhter Schubrekuperation. Nach Beenden einer Betätigung des Bremspedals ist im Schubbetrieb die erhöhte Schubrekuperation wirksam.

A cruise control arrangement (1) for a vehicle (10), where the cruise control arrangement is provided with a cruise control brake function (3), where the cruise control brake function is set to a brake cruise speed, where the cruise control arrangement is adapted to activate at least one auxiliary brake (8, 9) when the vehicle speed reaches the set brake cruise speed, and at the same time to apply a service brake (5) of the vehicle to keep the speed of the vehicle at the set brake cruise speed, and further adapted to decrease the brake power of the service brake at the same time as the brake power of the at least one auxiliary brake increases, such that the speed of the vehicle is kept at the set brake cruise speed. The advantage of the invention is that the speed of the vehicle can be held at the set cruise speed when an auxiliary brake is activated, regardless of the activation time of the auxiliary brake. In this way, an overshoot in speed can be avoided during the activation time of the auxiliary brake.

A system for determining a safe maximum speed of an vehicle has a processor and a global positioning system receiver in communication with the processor. The processor is configured to determine a grade and distance to an end of an upcoming or a current road segment the vehicle is traveling on based on the global positioning system information received from the global positioning system receiver. The processor is further configured to determine the safe maximum speed of the vehicle based on the distance to the end and pitch of the grade of the upcoming or current road segment the vehicle is traveling on and the braking efficiency of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A method for vehicle control comprises determining a braking capability of a braking system of a rail vehicle or other vehicle, and modifying application of at least one mission parameter by a control system of the vehicle based on the determined braking capability. Braking capability may be determined by activating the braking system of the vehicle to apply a braking force on the vehicle, and concurrently, applying a level of tractive effort of the vehicle is sufficient to overcome the braking force. The braking capability is determined based on the level of tractive effort.
