Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sheet feeding device including a movable wall (6) which is tiltable to regulate the leading edges of sheets stacked. When a sheet feed roller (5) is operated to perform a sheet feeding operation, a loop (12) is formed in the uppermost sheet. After formation of the loop, the movable wall is moved to a regulation release position to remove the loop formed in the uppermost sheet. After removal of the loop (2), the movable wall is returned to a regulation position to raise the leading end of the uppermost sheet so as to separate the uppermost sheet from the second and subsequent sheets.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device and a method for depositing sheet-shaped substrates (6), in particular printing materials, in a printing machine so as to form a stack. The device comprises a tray (10) for receiving the substrates, said tray having a tray surface (8) that is tilted about a first axis and about a second axis, relative to a horizontal. Also provided are a lifting device for lifting and lowering the tray, as well as a first abutment (25) having a first abutment surface and a second abutment (26) having a second abutment surface, with the first and the second abutment surfaces being arranged so as to be perpendicular to each other, and with substrates deposited on the tray coming to abut against the first and the second abutment surfaces due to the tilting of the tray surface.
Abstract:
A sheet feed apparatus for an imaging device (12). The apparatus includes a drive roller (25c), plurality of sheets of photosensitive material (18), a photographically inert liner (19) having upper and lower surfaces and a container for storing the sheets of photosensitive material (18). Proper feeding of the sheets of material (18) and a stable location of the liner (19) are ensured by appropriate coefficients of friction between the respective components.
Abstract:
A container (10) and a method of using the container for storing sheets of material, such as photosensitive materials (18), enables individual sheets to be transported from the container to an imaging unit (12) by a feed mechanism of the imaging unit. The container fits within the imaging unit to provide a light-tight environment for the photo-sensitive material. The container includes shiftable walls, including a front ramp (20) which can have a serrated surface to separate sheets. The container also includes a clamping component (52) to allow for the removal of a light-tight bag which encloses the sheets.
Abstract:
The apparatus, according to the invention, comprises essentially a container (10) wherein is arranged a pile (11) of objects (12) to be distributed. A friction drive wheel (13) is mounted at the extremity of a lever (14) pivoting about an axis (15). An inclined ramp (21) is arranged downstream of the objects to be distributed. The upper part of said ramp is provided with a staircase-shaped recess (26) and is prolonged by a plane surface (22) which defines with a plane surface (23) parallel therewith a guiding channel (25) for guiding the objects (12). The apparatus is provided to distribute cards, tickets, bank notes, plates, etc.
Abstract:
A media separator (450) comprising an elastomeric element (460) mounted in a frame (452) and including a plurality of fingers (465) wherein, when unbent, the ends of the fingers extend to interfere with a movement of a media sheet. When a finger (465) is bent by a sheet of media it is moved to a recess position such that it does not extend to interfere with the media sheet.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a removable input tray (10) to be used in an image forming device, such as a printer. The input tray includes a front wall (11) with a sloped surface (11a) for sheet separation, an opening (13) in the front wall, and a retractor (12) pivotally mounted in the opening. The retractor is movable between a stopping position and a retracted position, the stopping position provides a stop to the, leading edge of a stack of media sheets when the stack is being inserted into the input tray, and the retracted position is triggered when the input tray is fully inserted into the image forming device.
Abstract:
Each sheet (12) is picked from a stack of sheets (14) with the time of it being picked being determined in accordance with the time of the prior pick. The sum of the times to advance a sheet its length and a desired gap (6) between adjacent sheets is equal to a pick delay time (PD) and an expected feed time. If the measured feed time of the prior sheet exceeds a maximum feed time, the pick delay is the same as for the prior sheet. If the measured feed time of the prior sheet does not exceed the maximum feed time and the measured feed time of the prior sheet was less than the expected feed time, the pick delay is greater than the pick delay of the prior sheet. If the measured feed time of the prior sheet does not exceed the maximum feed time and the measured feed time of the prior sheet was not less than the expected feed time, the pick delay is less than the pick delay for the prior sheet.
