Abstract:
Abstract:
The method for producing indexable sets of inserts by printing a web (W) in a repeating mode to form sucessive groups of printed areas (A, A1, A2, A3, C, C1, C2, C3, B, B1, B2, B3), each group of printed areas corresponding to a particular set of inserts, imaging personalized information on at least one printed area of each group, longitudinally severing the webs into ribbons, superposing the ribbons one above another, transversely severing the superposed ribbons forming successively severed inserts, at least one of which serves as an indexing insert (30) having a greater length than the remaining inserts in a particular set of inserts.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a grouping and/or packing machine for packing articles, preferably thin articles extending substantially in one plane, comprising: a stacking device with a plurality of fingers mounted on a conveyor belt; as least one feed station for feeding at least one article between successive fingers at at least a first location; and a gathering station for removing a group of successive articles in the stacking device at a second location and for gathering this removed group at at least one gathering location. The gathering station comprises a first and/or a second removing and pushing unit extending on a first and/or second side of the stacking device and configured to push the removed group of successive articles in a direction away from the conveyor belt and toward the at least one gathering location, while the conveyor belt rotates continuously.
Abstract:
A starwheel feed apparatus and method for feeding and guiding sheets of a web material into a starwheel assembly. In some embodiments, a feeding conveyor is movable to convey sheets at a first velocity toward the starwheel, and a guiding conveyor is located adjacent the starwheel and has a conveying surface movable at a velocity less than the first velocity. In other embodiments, other relative speeds of the guiding and feeding conveyors are employed. In some embodiments, a feeding conveyor feeds sheets into slots of a starwheel, and a guiding conveyor located adjacent the starwheel has a conveying surface to guide trailing edges of the sheets along a length of the conveying surface as the sheets enter the slots.
Abstract:
A method of and apparatus for separation from a stack of sheets (150) a block of a predetermined number of sheets (G), the method including moving the stack in a forward direction (F), directing an air stream (24) across one corner of the forward portion of the stack to spread the corners apart, sensing and counting the number of spread sheet corners that pass a predetermined location, and separating the group of sheets from the remainder of the stack when the sensed and counted sheets reach a predetermined number. Further directing a thin plane of air (26) toward the corner and center of the sheets at said location to cause a greater space between the sheets in the group and the next sheet in the stack. Also, vacuum nozzles (164, 166) are provided to remove unwanted air from above and below the stack and group. With the group so formed, separation includes imparting lateral force on the group edges.
Abstract:
The present application provides a tucker fold dispenser for folding and dispensing a sheet of material. The tucker fold dispenser may include an outer shell, a removable roller cassette positioned within the outer shell, a paper path therethrough, a number of loading rollers positioned about the paper path, a number of folding rollers positioned about the paper path, and a tucker bar mechanism positioned about the folding rollers.
