The invention relates to a method for operating a filling adapter for filling refrigerant R744 into vehicle air conditioning systems as well as to a corresponding adapter. Said adapter comprises mechanical clamping elements actuated by a pneumatically or mechanically controlled clamping piston. The clamping elements are clamped by the clamping piston onto specifically designed sections of the vehicle air conditioning system for the filling process and are kept in the clamping position during the filling process. The aim of the invention is to create a technical solution that allows the locking action of such a clamping system to be securely maintained in case the filling valve or the vehicle valve is not closed or in case the control pressure drops below a predefined value. Said aim is achieved by subjecting the clamping piston to two different pressurization media, i.e. first to the control pressure of the filling adapter and then to the filling pressure of the refrigerant. In order to be able do so, the clamping piston (2) comprises at least two separate piston surfaces (5; 7) to be subjected to the pressure of two different pressurization media, one piston surface (5) being effectively connected to the control pressure of the filling adapter and the other piston surface (7) being effectively connected to the filling pressure of the refrigerant.

The problem addressed by the invention is that of creating a technical solution by means of which technical and economic advantages of known solution approaches for valve interconnections for operating such a filling adapter can be combined with each other without additional disadvantages being generated by means of this combination. This problem is solved in that the filling adapter has a barrel and a ball piece and is operatively connected to two media lines in a hose pack, wherein the media are redistributed in the adapter head, in which a filling valve and a vacuum valve are arranged, which are each connected to the barrel, and wherein an aeration line branches off from a vacuum line in the hose pack by means of a check valve and is connected to the ball piece.

Die Aufgabe wird gelöst, indem der Befülladapter eine Pinole und ein Kugelstück aufweist und mit zwei Medienleitungen in einem Schlauchpaket in Wirkverbindung steht, wobei die Umverteilung der Medien im Adapterkopf erfolgt, in dem ein Füllventil und ein Vakuumventil angeordnet sind, die jeweils mit der Pinole verbunden sind und wobei eine Belüftungsleitung über ein Rückschlagventil von einer Vakuumleitung im Schlauchpaket abgezweigt und mit dem Kugelstück verbunden ist.

The invention relates to device-related and method-related aspects of a filler adapter for a container that is to be filled with a liquid, which can be placed on the container and has a liquid port, an extraction port, a pressurised gas port and a tube that is connected to a piston and is pneumatically adjustable along an axis, and wherein by means of the tube, which is functionally connected to the liquid port, the extraction port, and the pressurised gas port, it is possible to fill the container with a liquid and/or to extract gases and/or liquid from the container via the filler adapter. The problem addressed by the invention is that of devising a technical solution that is inexpensive and uses a small and lightweight filler adapter. This problem is solved by a filler adapter (1) that has a first cylinder chamber (10) and a second cylinder chamber (11) at axially opposite ends (12, 13) of the piston (7), the first cylinder chamber (10) being connected to a pressurised gas supply and the second cylinder chamber (11) being either also connected to a pressurised gas supply or spring biased, such that the piston (7) can be moved by different pressures and/or forces in the first cylinder chamber (10) and the second cylinder chamber (11) and can be positionally fixed by equal pressures and/or forces in the first cylinder chamber (10) and the second cylinder chamber (11), so that a mouth (16) of the tube (8) can be positioned in multiple axial pipe positions (Z-F1, Z-F2) between two end positions (Z-0, Z-1) in which filling and/or extraction can take place and thus a fill level (15) of the liquid (9) can be adjusted.
