    摘要: The present invention is drawn to a method for removing colloidal titanium dioxide and titanium oxychloride from by-product hydrochloric acid. The method includes adding phosphate ion source and quaternary amine to the by-product acid to cause the titanium dioxide and the titanium oxychloride to form a precipitate. The precipitate can then be separated from the acid, thus producing a decontaminated hydrochloric acid product with reduced levels of titanium.

    摘要: Provided are cartridges (100), apparatuses and methods for purifying a liquid chemical. The cartridges (100) include a conduit (104) connected to receive a flow of a chemical to be purified. A packed section (107) in the conduit (104) comprises a purification material (105). The ratio of the length of the packed section (107) to the inside diameter of the conduit (104) is from about 8:1 to about 200:1. The flow of the chemical to be purified contacts the purification material (105), thereby producing a flow of a purified chemical. This invention has particular applicability to the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

    摘要: The process is used to obtain hydrochloric acid from flue gases. Hydrogen chloride HC1, hydrogen fluoride HF and other substances soluble in an aqueous washing solution are removed thereby. The dissolved fluoride ions are converted with added aluminium and sodium ions into cryolite Na3A1F6 and aluminium fluoride A1F3. A fraction of larger crystals (52) is removed from the washing solution taken to a circuit (12, P1, 32, P3, 5) and a fraction of finer crystals left in the washing solution. HC1 is expelled from the washing solution. A vapour (34) containing the expelled HC1 is taken to further processing stages (8) for producing highly concentrated hydrochloric acid (88).

    摘要: A process whereby vent gas from a polysilicon production reactor, the vent gas containing hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, silicon tetrachloride and possibly other components, is treated to provide components and reactants thereof useful as feedstock(s) for a polysilicon production reactor, which process avoids the use of multiple off gas recovery systems by, for example, directing substantially all of the hydrogen present in the vent gas into a converter, where the converter converts silicon tetrachloride to one or more of trichlorosilane and dichlorosilane.
