    摘要: A composition includes glass fibers and a polyether antistatic agent. The polyether antistatic agent has a molecular weight of less than about 2000, or less than about 1000. Exemplary polyether antistatic agents include polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, a glycerol polyether, and combinations thereof. The polyether antistatic agent has a viscosity of less than about 600 cSt at 75 °F, or less than about 200 cSt at 75 °F. The composition may further include a solvent for the polyether antistatic agent; the solvent may include one or more organic soluble electrolytes, water or a combination thereof. Exemplary organic soluble electrolytes include calcium acetate, lithium acetate, an amine acetate, sodium benzoate, and combinations thereof. The composition may be used in various insulation applications, including in an insulation batt, insulation roll, insulation board, insulation pipe or unbonded glass fiber insulation. Methods for making glass fibers for use in insulation and methods for installing unbonded glass fiber insulation are also described.

    摘要: Dual coated optical fibers and methods for forming dual coated optical fibers are disclosed herein. The dual coated optical fibers include a glass fiber comprising a core region, a cladding region and a dual coating layer surrounding the glass fiber. The dual coating layer includes an inner coating and an outer coating. The inner coating surrounds the glass fiber and includes a first polyimide material. In one embodiment the first polyimide material also includes an adhesion promoter. The outer coating surrounds and is in direct contact with the inner coating and includes a second polyimide material having a decomposition threshold temperature greater than the first polyimide material. The second polyimide material may also have a modulus of elasticity greater than the first polyimide material and a moisture uptake lower than the first polyimide material.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method of coating a substrate having a surface defined by a layer of fluoropolymer. The method utilizes an aqueous dispersion that includes: particles of melt-processible fluoropolymer in an amount of 30 to 70% by weight; a fluorinated surfactant in an amount of not more than 250ppm based on fluoropolymer solids of the aqueous dispersion; and a non-ionic surfactant comprising an ethoxylated aliphatic alcohol in an amount of 2 to 15% by weight based on total solids of the aqueous dispersion. The aqueous dispersion is free or substantially free of aromatic group containing non-ionic surfactants. The aqueous dispersion may be optionally diluted and/or modified with additional components to obtain a coating composition. The coating composition may then be applied on at least part of the surface of the substrate to define the fluoropolymer layer.

    摘要: The present invention provides reinforced laminates for printed circuit boards having a woven reinforcement fabric of a yarn including E-glass fibers having a coating which is compatible with the polymeric matrix material. The yarn has a loss on ignition ranging from about 0.01 to about 0.6 weight percent and an Air Jet Transport Drag Force of greater than about one gram force per gram mass of yarn evaluated using a needle air jet nozzle unit having an internal air jet chamber having a diameter of 2 millimeters and a nozzle exit tube having a length of 20 centimeters at a yarn feed rate of about 274 meters (about 300 yards) per minute and an air pressure of about 310 kiloPascals (about 45 pounds per square inch) gauge. The laminate has a flexural strength in the fill direction of the fabric greater than about 3 x 10 kilograms per square meter (about 42.7 kpsi). The yarn coating can include polyester and a polymer selected from vinyl pyrrolidone polymers, vinyl alcohol polymers, starches and mixtures thereof. Alternatively, the laminate has a coefficient of thermal expansion in the z-direction of less than about 4.5 percent at a temperature of 288 DEG C.
