There is described a composite product (10) including two layers (1) and (2) of polyester non- woven fabric which is preferably reinforced, and a thin membrane (3) of polymer material, which is watertight, resistant to high temperatures and arranged between the above said layers of non- woven fabric. The product is adapted to be used as a support for bituminous membranes having a low thickness and weight, as it is intrinsically watertight.

A base material for artificial leather comprising a laminate wherein a nonwoven fabric layer (A) composed of bundles of ultrafine fibers having an average filament denier of 0.5 decitex (T) or less and a cushion layer (B) composed of an elastic polymer sheet are integrated together. Some part of the ultrafine fibers constituting the nonwoven fabric layer (A) penetrate through the cushion layer (B) and form an ultrafine fiber layer (C) on the outer face of the cushion layer (B). The inner face of the elastic polymer sheet has a wavy structure having a vertical interval of 100 µm or more and a space having a height in the thickness direction of 100 µm or more is formed between the wavy face of the elastic polymer sheet and the nonwoven fabric layer (A). By using the base material for artificial leather as described above, it is possible to manufacture a skiver-type artificial leather which shows a less reflective softness and a massive texture comparable to natural sheepskin and has voluminous folded wrinkles.
