Diacrylate and dimethacrylate esters corresponding to the formula (FORMULA) wherein R and R' are hydrogen or methyl and A is either a sigma (//c) bond; a (CH u)n radical where n is an integer that may vary from one through four; or phenylene, or an alkyl derivative thereof. The new adamantane containing difunctional olefinic monomers can then be polymerized, or copolymerized with other acrylic type olefinic monomers to produce polymers with unusual physical properties, including unusual hardness, inertness to degradable agents, and resistance to heat.

An unsaturated polyester resin composition comprising an unsaturated polyester obtained by using a dibasic acid represented by the following general formula: (FORMULA) (wherein R u to R u each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R' to R'''' may be the same as, or different from, each other and each represents an alkyl group capable of being ester-exchanged, m represents 1 or 2, and n represents 0 or 1), and an unsaturated polybasic acid, and reacting them with a polyhydric alcohol, and an aromatic vinyl monomer. When hardened in the presence of a catalyst, this composition provides unsaturated polyester mouldings having alkali resistance and boiling water resistance, and exhibiting decreased heat contraction upon hardening.

The invention relates to a continuous method for the carbonylation of an (R1R3)C - X alcohol in acid, where: R1 and R3 are radicals bonded to the carbon atom by means of a single covalent bond, or an aliphatic cyclic compound that integrates the central carbon atom and bonds to the latter on each side by means of a single covalent bond; and C - X is C(R) - OH, where R is (Z1Z2)HC- or (Z1Z2)C-, it being a given that said radical (Z1Z2)C- can be a substituted or unsubstituted unsaturated cyclic compound such as a benzene cyclic compound. Methods and reagents for photo-initiated carbonylation with carbon-isotope labeled carbon monoxide using alkyl/aryl iodides with water pretreated by a base are provided. The resultant carbon-isotope labeled acids are useful as radiopharmaceuticals, especially for use in Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Associated kits for PET studies are also provided.

Метод синтезирования этих диалкилэфиров включает синтез хлорагидрида 5,7-диметиладамантан-1,3-дикарбоновой кислоты, алкоголиз этого ангидрида выбранным алифатическим спиртом в кипящем бензоле или толуоле, удаление растворителя и очистку целевого продукта. Метод синтезирования 5,7-диметиладамантан-1,3-дикарбоновой кислоты в качестве промежуточного продуекта включает синтез пергидроаценафтена гидрированием аценафтена, изомерацию пергидроаценафтена в 1,3- диметиладамантан в присутствии AlCl 3 , бромирование 1,3- диметиладамантан в две стадии таким образом, что его монобромпроизводное и 1,3-диметил-5,7-дибромоадамантан получены на первой и второй стадииб соответственно, и карбоксилирование 1,3-диметил-5,7-дибромоадамантана муравьиной кислотой в присутствии 10 % олеума. Эти диалкилэфиры могут быть использованы в качестве эффективных присадок (в частности, смазок, улучшителей трения и антиокислителей ) к минеральным и/синтетическим маслам, используемым для смазки и охлаждения двигателей внутреннего сгорания.
