    摘要: Provided are an asphalt composition for road pavement, which is excellent in drying strength, strength after immersion in water, and strength after immersion in petroleum, a method for producing the same, and a road paving method. [1] An asphalt composition for road pavement including asphalt, a polyester resin, and an aggregate, wherein the polyester resin is a polyester having an alcohol component-derived constituent unit containing 65 mol% or more of an alkylene oxide adduct of bisphenol A and a carboxylic acid component-derived constituent unit containing 50 mol% or more of at least one selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid and has a softening point of 95°C or higher and 130°C or lower and a hydroxyl group value of 20 mgKOH/g or more and 50 mgKOH/g or less, and a ratio of the polyester resin is 5 parts by mass or more and 50 parts by mass or less based on 100 parts by mass of the asphalt; [2] a method for producing an asphalt composition for road pavement including a step of mixing asphalt, a polyester resin, and an aggregate at 130°C or higher and 200°C or lower for 30 seconds or more, wherein the polyester resin is a polyester having an alcohol component-derived constituent unit containing 65 mol% or more of an alkylene oxide adduct of bisphenol A and a carboxylic acid component-derived constituent unit containing 50 mol% or more of at least one selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid and has a softening point of 95°C or higher and 130°C or lower and a hydroxyl group value of 20 mgKOH/g or more and 50 mgKOH/g or less, and the polyester resin is mixed in a ratio of 5 parts by mass or more and 50 parts by mass or less based on 100 parts by mass of the asphalt; and [3] a road paving method including a step of laying an asphalt composition obtained by the method as set forth above in [2], thereby forming an asphalt paving material layer, are disclosed.

    摘要: A polymer-modified asphalt composition comprises or is produced from asphalt and a high-melt flow index ethylene co/terpolymer comprising copolymerized units derived from ethylene, an epoxy-containing comonomers, and optionally a third monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylates, methacrylates, vinyl esters, and the like. The modified asphalt composition may further comprise a nonreactive polymer, such as a styrene/conjugated-diene block copolymer, and a co-reactant, such as an acid or an acid anhydride. Further provided are processes for producing the polymer modified asphalt composition, and paving and roofing materials that comprise the polymer-modified asphalt composition.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are asphalt compositions. In some embodiments, the asphalt compositions can include asphalt, a polymer, and a basic salt such as aluminum sulfate. In some embodiments, the asphalt compositions can include asphalt, a polymer, and an inorganic acid such as phosphoric acid. The asphalt compositions can include asphalt in an amount of from 50 wt% to 99.9 wt%, based on the weight of the asphalt composition. In some embodiments, the asphalt compositions can include a styrene-butadiene copolymer in an amount of from 0.05 wt% to 10 wt%, based on the weight of the asphalt composition. The basic salt can be present in an amount of from 0.01 wt% to 5 wt%, based on the weight of the asphalt compositions. The acid can be present in an amount of from 0.005 wt% to 0.1 wt%, based on the weight of the asphalt compositions. Methods of making and using the asphalt compositions are also disclosed.

    摘要: A mineral-compatible cationic emulsion composition with polymer stabilizers, and methods for utilizing same in paving and other applications is disclosed. In one aspect, a bitumen-in-water emulsion composition includes at least one bitumen material, at least one polymer stabilizer, at least one emulsifier, and water, where the emulsifier is a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, or a mixture of both, and the polymer stabilizer is a natural or synthetic cationic polymer consisting of alkylene polyamines, alkyl polyamines, polyquaternary polymers, polyvinylamine, polyvinylimidazoline, polyester polyquaternary polymers, polyether polyquaternary polymers, or mixtures thereof. The inclusion of polymer stabilizer in the cationic emulsion increases the stability of the emulsion and increases the compatibility of the cationic emulsion with negatively charged minerals.
