Abstract:
Venetian blinds include a pair of slat lift and guide tapes (27, 28) that extend from the upper rail (12), downwardly through openings (22) in the elongated parallel slats (14) and into the lower rail (13) where they are collected in the lower rail on spools (48). The lift and guide tapes are concave in cross section when in their rectilinear shape and progressively change to flat in cross section as they are pulled into the lower rail and wrapped about tape collector spools.
Abstract:
A window blind assembly (10) having a bottom rail (14, 114) that defines a channel (22, 122) for receiving and storing unnecessary or unused slats (12) of the blind assembly (10) to enable the ready customization of the blind assembly (10) to fit windows of different heights. End caps (23, 123) removably engageable with the ends of the storage rail (14, 114) may be provided for retaining the slats (12) within the channel (22, 122). Slots (36, 136) may be formed on each of the leading edges of the end caps (23, 123), extending inwardly, for engaging a cover slat (12') to enclose the storage rail (14, 114) and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the storage rail (14, 114). Means are also provided for readily securing the storage rail (14, 114) to the cords (16) of the blind assembly (10).
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes roll-up coverings of custom length and/or width for architectural openings, and a method of assembling the same. The custom covering includes at least one outer elongate tape, at least one inner elongate tape, and a plurality of slats. The tapes preferably have lengths along central longitudinal axis extending between first ends and second ends of the tapes that are selected to correspond to the custom length of the covering. The slats are preferably transverse to, spaced apart along, and coupled to the tapes at any desired location along the tape lengths to achieve desired spacings of the slats, thereby providing a subassembly of custom length. The slats may have lengths extending between first ends and second ends of the slats, orthogonal to the central axis of the tapes, and selected to provide a custom width of the subassembly.
Abstract:
The application relates to a support half-ladder for Venetian blinds, comprising a plurality of eyelets 10 and a plurality of segments 20 which connect the eyelets 10 to each other. The eyelets and the connection segments 20 are composed of the same threadlike element 2, which extends continuously without interruption. Each eyelet 10 is defined by a loop 3 of the threadlike element in relation to a main longitudinal extension axis X of the half-ladder. The half- ladder comprises a stabilisation clip 30 for each eyelet inside which two portions 4 and 5 of the threadlike element 2 are retained close to each other, of which a first portion 4 is upstream of the loop and second 5 is downstream of the loop.
Abstract:
A retractable covering such as a door or window blind or shade has a top rail, a bottom rail, a covering material extending between the top rail and the bottom rail, at least two lift cords extending downwardly from the head rail to the bottom rail for supporting the bottom rail, a covering operating system for enabling retraction and deployment of the covering, and an adjuster connected to at least two of the lift cords. The adjuster is preferably mounted in the bottom rail. The retractable covering also comprises an individual cord tensioner (101) for allowing at least one of the lift cords (22) to be individually tensioned. The individual cord tensioner (101) operates independently of the adjuster. A method of adjusting the orientation and drop height of the bottom rail of the retractable covering is also provided.
Abstract:
To make Venetian blinds with double crossbands, the slats of the Venetian blind are inserted between a lower carrying crossband (C-D) and an upper crossband (A-B) preventing the slat from being lifted. The slats are inserted in ladder bands with two standard ladders each while their crossbands (A-B, C-D) are paired off at the same level. One standard ladder is then lowered until its crossbands (A-B) lock the underlying slat. The lowered ladder is fixed to the bottom strip of the Venetian blind while the ladder carrying the slats is fixed to the top strip of the Venetian blind. A ladder for this purpose includes two standard ladders whereby the crossbands (C-D) of the ladder fixed to the top strip of the Venetian blind constitute the lower carrying crossbands, while the crossbands (A-B) of the other ladder fixed to the lower strip of the Venetian blind constitute the upper crossbands preventing lifting. It is thus possible to insert the slats without a special embodiment of the instrument used and without reducing the insertion speed or safety.
Abstract:
The present disclosure concerns a combined insulated glazing and Venetian blind system, the insulated glazing (2) comprising two glass panes and a spacer element, said two glass panes and said spacer element defining a closed volume, said Venetian blind (3) being situated within said closed volume, said Venetian blind (3) comprising an upper structure (6), a plurality of slats (4), each comprising at least two through holes (41), and at least two lift cords (5), operably associated with said upper structure (6), which extend through said holes (41) of said slats (4) and are operably configured to allow said slats (4) to move between a stowed position, in which said slats (4) accumulate proximate to said upper structure (6) and a deployed position, The lift cords (5) are characterized by comprising an inner core (51) enclosed in an outer braid (52), said inner core (51) being made of heat-set polyester and said outer braid (52) being made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers (UHMWPE).
Abstract:
A Venetian blind has a ladder cord assembly (1) with two side members (1a, b) and a number of transverse ladder rungs (4) holding blind slats (6). In addition to a tilt cord (2a, 2b), each side member (1a, 1b) has a channel (5a, 5b) in which a lift cord (3a, 3b) is guided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a Venetian blind comprising: a plurality of slats (10), each of which comprises a profiled element which extends in a direction of longitudinal extension X with two opposite longitudinal edges (11,12) and defines the slat body; a plurality of support half-ladders (20) which connect said overlapping slats to each other. Each slat comprises a plurality of coupling portions (16, 26), which are positioned next to or at each longitudinal edge and attach the half-ladders to the profiled element. Each coupling portion consists of a tongue which is cut into the profiled element and is moveable between a raised position and a lowered position. The blind comprises a plurality of stabiliser elements (30), each of which blocks one of the tongues in the lowered position.
