A pump-fan assembly of an air modification device may include a fan, a pump and a disk. The fan may include a central hub disposed on a top surface of the disk, and a plurality of blades extending from the hub towards an outer circumferential edge of the disk. The pump may include a hollow pump body defining an inner tubular passage between an inlet end and a discharge end. An impeller may be arranged at the inlet end and an outlet port may be arranged at the discharge end. The pump and the fan may be coupled at an interface between the discharge end of the pump body and a bottom surface of the disk. The outlet port may be disposed in the interface and arranged to guide a stream of pumped liquid along the bottom surface of the disk. The disk may define a liquid barrier.

A fan assembly includes a nozzle and a body on which the nozzle is mounted. The nozzle has a rear section having at least one first air inlet, at least one first air outlet, and a first interior passage for conveying air from said at least one first air inlet to said at least one first air outlet; and a front section having at least one second air inlet, at least one second air outlet, and a second interior passage which is isolated from the first interior passage for conveying air from said at least one second air inlet to said at least one second air outlet. The sections of the nozzle defining a bore through which air from outside the fan assembly is drawn by air emitted from the nozzle. The body includes flow generating means for generating a first air flow through the first interior passage and a second air flow through the second interior passage, and means for changing one of the temperature, humidity, and electrical charge of the second air flow before it enters the second interior passage.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erhöhung der aerodynamischen Stabilität einer Arbeitsfluidströmung eines Verdichters einer Turbomaschine, speziell eines Verdichters einer zur Stromerzeugung eingesetzten Gasturbine, insbesondere gegenüber sich schnell ändernden Aero-Drehzahlen des Verdichters. Das Verfahren umfasst, der Arbeitsfluidströmung des Verdichters einen ersten Wassermassenstrom zuzumischen (Verfahrensschritt 107). Ferner betrifft die Erfindung eine Turbomaschine, insbesondere eine Gasturbine (1), in der ein solches Verfahren angewendet wird.
